Description
The Solfatara of Pozzuoli (Italy) is without a doubt the most interesting volcano of the Phlegreaen Fields, an area north of Naples made up by approx. 40 ancient volcanoes.
The Vulcano Solfatara, the mythical entrance to the Ancient Roman's Hell, is an inactive volcano part of the volcanic region known as the Phlegreaen Fields. It's famous for its steaming jets of sulfurous vapor at temperatures of 160ºC, the emission of carbon dioxid and small volcanoes of boiling mud.

Phlegraean Fields, is a place full of magic and mythology, which for the ancient romans symbolized an entrance to Hades, the underworld, the misty and gloomy abode of the dead to which every mortal will go.
