She died from Pulmonary Edema, which is when your lungs fill with fluid, and your body struggles to get enough oxygen. In the end, she died of heart failure. She contracted Pulmonary Edema when She was swimming in ocean with Alani, and when they got caught in a strong wave, Maulana saved Alani, but got caught in the coral reefs and nearly drowned. Kahiau saved her though, but later she died-

So Kahiau gets super paranoid about when Alani surfs.
