Description
Long ago, before humans were on the earth the Celestial Dragon came and took the Earth under Her protection among other planets. When life developed in the seas She rejoiced. When life moved to land She cheered. When humans evolved, She celebrated, and also sorrowed. She was enamored with these cleaver determined creatures, yet saw they were under prepared for what the world could though at them. But they would move forward, striving to survive. She wanted them to survive; as such She was moved to shed one solitary tear.
This tear landed on the Earth, and it's power subtly spread to all the Lands, providing Inspiration Motivation, that allowed human kind to continue forward, till civilizations covered the earth. When humans were self-sufficient it became dormant, but it's influence continued to be felt by humans. It also allowed those who had the spark to use magic and become, mages, witches, and sorcerers.
Though time, the age of magic was supplanted by the age of science, and magic all but forgotten except in fairy tales. It was during this time that a young man found this tear, though he knew not what he found he could tell that it held great power. He and his family used this tear to create a limitless source of power for the whole world, to solve the energy crises. Life was good for humans during this time, until generations later the Power woke up. It did not like how it was being used. It was not what it was created for and fought back, eventually freeing itself, and in the process Unraveling the land around it, as well as some places around the world. This made it impossible for humans to cross the Unraveled borders without getting sick.
And so the world, dependent on this power, turned to chaos and disorder without it. But the human soul is resilient and persistent, and eventually learned to survive in this changed world.
