Well Vanitas is literally pure darkness.
He was born of the darkness that lived in the heart of Ventus
Well you have to play Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep
to understand a little more lol And good for that Vanitas looks like Sora, has much to be last.

No, not Sora.
I'll explain. When Ventus's heart nearly broke the die, then appeared Sora's heart who made good contact with Ventus and Vanitas did so because as the dark side of Ventus's heart, Vanitas heard Sora's voice . (Vanitas was supposed to not have a face and eyes would be red, not amber.) And by contact with Sora, Vanitas then adopted a face ... Sora's face and his eyes also changed.
