Fur Texture/Length: Coarse, long.
Scent: Burnt hay and grasshoppers.
Key Features: His shoulders are strong and his pelt shines. Strange accent, weak bladder.
Personality InformationPersonality: Waspwhisper starts off shy, but the more time you spend with him, the more awful jokes. He's a chill bro, an absolute solid dude. He likes to keep things in order. Kind of secretive, he doesn't usually agree to talk about the past. He might casually lie a little. If someone starts acting in a way he's not familiar with, he has no idea what to do. He doesn't express his emotions well, usually, and is somewhat emotionally distant. He likes keeping things tidy, bugs, and jokes. He dislikes sudden movements, loud noises, and embarrassing himself.
Strengths: Physically strong. He keeps clean and takes care of his fur and body. Very self-preserving. Very vigilant, he keeps a close eye on his surroundings.
Flaws: He avoids speaking, and often doesn't know what to say. He is not very brave.
Ambitions: He doesn't know anymore.
Worries: There isn't much more you could do to Waspwhisper he hasn't already seen.
Trivia: He has some kind of joke that involves covering his face in mud with leaf eyebrows. His favourite flowers are all yellow. He may or may not be a pyromaniac that has burned down several forests.
He used to be very socially anxious, had trouble with eye-contact, quiet when speaking, high-pitched when speaking up. Scared easily, stressed often, and timid. Has peed himself. Three times.
HistoryHis last group asked for "unborn" so please enjoy this
Waspwhisper does not remember life inside the womb, but he's sure he did alright. His parents had prepared for the arrival of the litter, however, Wasp-fetus absorbed his siblings- asserting his dominance. After 60-some days, he emerged victorious, as an unsung fetus-villain. Nobody really KNOWS any of the whole absorption thing though.
Loner
Born in a faraway place, he led an average kithood, following the rules, playing with feathers, the usual. He was always fascinated by fire... The other kits around rarely played with him because he was quiet and a bit really awkward. He embarrassed himself a lot. Once, he peed himself. In front of everyone.
Apprentice
He set off to find new cats to live with not long after peeing himself and his home was mysteriously razed to the ground by unholy fire. Loner life was not his style, too much fending for himself, very stressful. He joined another group, but they... fell, also to fire. He traveled moons more, getting picked up and moved by two-legs so frequently he no longer knew which way he came from. Clawing his way through the mountain-range, he found BearClan... and was first seen standing there at the edge like "hey can I stay, I'm so lost." He met a strange younger apprentice and they had a "fight." Yeah, she was trying to fight him but he was afraid of the leader getting mad so he mostly just took the hits (she was much smaller, he could handle it) it was the not-really-a-fight of the century... As for his training, he knew some things from his past and travels, but needed training for his current living situation.
Warrior
He became a warrior of BearClan, Waspwhisper, and it had been one heck of a trip. He met a beautiful she-cat his age, Vixenvoice, and they had so much in common it was hard to resist spending a lot of time together. Waspwhisper was very open with her, brightening up considerably, and the two were somewhat of a power-couple, to the disappointment of those who's been interested in either. It was like they were made for each other, and all his journeying was meant to bring him to her.
After a while of being together, he and his mate had children; two ill-behaved daughters he named Marigoldkit and Tansykit. Not long after, his mate passed away, and he was left alone to raise his terrible, terrible, monster-daughters. His clanmates couldn't really do much to help. Dovestar put in an effort to try and get him out of camp, but he just stuck to the sidelines, his mind kind of disconnected from reality. Together, they visited neutral territory, and attacked a rogue group that had situated near the border. When Breezewing told Dovestar that it was Stormtalon who tried to kill Tansyleaf, Dovestar entrusted Waspwhisper with the job of keeping fights from breaking out on the ground when he called a meeting to settle the matter. Waspwhisper failed; Stormtalon nearly killed Swandance before bolting away. Waspwhisper gave chase with Dovestar, and the assailant jumped off a cliff to his death to escape them.
His daughters became apprentices, so he returned to full-time warrior duties. Tansyleaf also eventually returned to her duties, and once the two went to collect sage off a cliff-face. He almost fell off the cliff, but she pulled him back up. She had feelings for him he didn't really notice, sort of under the impression he'd never have another chance, and still hung up with the grief. Marigoldpaw picked on her (as the warrior had taken it upon herself to supervise her when in the neutral territory), and was well aware of what her feelings were, but any effort to drive her away fell flat soon after. Waspwhisper had been assigned Kestrelpaw as an apprentice, and during a training session demonstrating pinning with Tansyleaf, the apprentice said something suggestive before leaving the warriors alone. Tansyleaf rolled with it, Waspwhisper played along, they conceived a litter and agreed to try out being in a relationship, his worry being that it still felt recent that his past mate had died. By the time they realized kits were coming, they were already spending time together.
Marigoldsear was named a warrior after an incident - she had caught her mentor abusing kits while Waspwhisper and Dovestar were finding their parents. She was out-matched, but their father Shredshadow got there in time thanks to a mysterious omen left by Rustytalon. Waspwhisper felt really bad for leaving Venomkit and Weepingkit alone at the nursery, though it was technically a reasonable thing to do. No one knew Yarrowroot would do that...
Tansyleaf had five kits, Rosekit, Hornetkit, Lionkit, Goldenkit, and Chamisekit, all of which were perfect, healthy and adorable. So adorable it got Marigoldsear back in on family time, and for a moment, the newly named Tansybite. Waspwhisper and Tansyleaf became mates, since everything was going so perfect. Through their influence, Dovestar and Larkblaze also decided to start a family. Soon, Kestrelmurmur was given her full name, relieving Waswhisper of his mentoring duty. Tansyleaf, Rosekit, and Lionkit all got sick, and were separated. After a few days, the kits couldn't fight any longer, and died. Goldenkit was not handling the grief well, so Waspwhisper and Tansyleaf asked Dovestar to let Marigoldsear mentor him when the time came, hoping a familiar mentor would ease his anxiety. Chamisepaw and Hornetpaw were assigned to Wolfglare and Cloudtoes, respectively.
Unfortunately, Goldenpaw was attacked by Battletear on his first FernClan border patrol. Getting scarred and watching the warrior fight to his death against Marigoldsear and Dovestar was very upsetting to the apprentice. Waspwhisper had to carry him home. Chamisepaw had some issues with self-image, Waspwhisper noticed when he got upset at a loner named Sand calling him cute. The second time Waspwhisper heard of the warrior was from Stormclaw, who'd just fought with him. Goldenpaw had opted to sit and wait for the fight to be over without bearing witness. The worst attack on Goldenpaw was by Shiverstalk. Waspwhisper only got there in time to comfort his son.
At a gathering, he caught on that Darkscar of DesertClan had sneaked off with Tansybite. After a brief exchange, he clawed the other warrior, cutting his tongue. After Hornetsoar, Chamisefire, and Goldensequoia became warriors, Tansybite gave birth to Beekit and Termitekit, Waspwhisper's grandchildren. Not much longer, she adopted Mousekit. While the rest of the family were playing with the kits one day, Goldensequoia was saving Venomscratch from a fox. His son came back virtually unscathed, but unbeknownst to Waspwhisper, Tansyleaf's family was in a vendetta against Venomscratch's, and that included Goldensequoia. Also, Venomscratch had developed a crush on Goldensequoia. And ghosts and terrorists were getting involved. If Waspwhisper knew this, he would have probably been more anxious. Chamisefire was also digging himself deeper and deeper into a hole, getting involved with the vendetta.
A rogue named Aileen got his and Squirrelpaw's help in chasing away Smiles before she too went on her way. FlareClan caught on fire, and Waspwhisper went with Marigoldsear and Dovestar to check on the cats. He spent a long time watching that beautiful, beautiful fire. Chamisefire and Dovestar found a kittypet named Bibi, who grew close to Chamisefire. He was also friends with a WildClan warrior, Blossombriar. Goldensequoia kept seeing Venomscratch in secret.
Waspwhisper finally found out about the vendetta when his family was called to a fight, and Tansyleaf told him what she knew. He went with her to the fight, in time to see Hornetsoar get pushed off a cliff, thankfully landing on her paws. Tansyleaf and Chamisefire fought too, but Goldensequoia tried to stop the fighting by announcing why the fight was happening that night; he was pregnant by Venomscratch. This was quite the surprise for Waspwhisper, but he couldn't dwell on it, cats were dying and he needed to help break up the fight. BearClan eventually stepped in as well, and the cats dispersed. He was wrong to think they were in the clear though. Mousekit had fallen out of a tree, and tried to move too soon, puncturing his lung. While Tansybite was mourning the kit, Termitekit escaped the camp. She pursued her daughter, and found her being taken by a bird. Tansybite fell to her death trying to get her daughter back, leaving Beekit the only one left. His care was taken over by Goldensequoia and Venomscratch, who had joined the clan, and Oriolekit and Honeykit were soon born.
Tansyleaf started thinking very heavily on their relationship, feeling like he didn't love her as much as she did him, and chalking it up to her being older and not good enough. He dismissed the idea, assuring her that he was willing to spend the rest of his life in the situation he was in. She eventually came to realize that he wasn't enough for her. He admitted he was more in love with Vixenvoice when she was alive, and gave her a few options. She decided they should break up, which he accepted easily enough to prove it was the right decision.
To Waspwhisper's annoyance, Tansyleaf didn't want to tell their children about the split right away. Stuff kept happening and she didn't want to make it worse. First, Chamisefire's friend Bibi had a breakdown about having eaten her two-legs and being unable to go home, then Oriolekit was kidnapped as part of a plot to blind Dovestar, which greatly stressed Goldensequoia. They thought the kit was dead at first, but thankfully, Oriolekit was fine, completely unharmed. Waspwhisper told Dovestar and Marigoldsear, and Marigoldsear told Venomscratch, who told some of his family in ScrapClan before they finally told their kits.
Dovestar getting attacked kicked BearClan into gear. There was much talk about allegiances and StarClan, but Waspwhisper found that he didn't really care all that much. His kids growing up and him coming out of a long-term relationship opened his mind to the question of who he was and what he cared about. He didn't feel like the timid young tom he used to be anymore. He'd lost so much already he was a bit numb to it by now. He started thinking about hitting the road again, caught in internal debate on whether or not he was needed by his grown kids and their children.
Chamisefire pulled him and Hornetsoar aside in the Place of No Stars to tell them that the afterlives were jumbled up, and a lot of bad acts had forced many of the good into the dark forest, taking over StarClan themselves. A lot of it was connected to the feud, Tansyleaf's family largely in the Place of No Stars, and Venomscratch's in StarClan, and there were links to the clan politics; it was why there was so much support for Lichenstar. In this sense, Chamisefire was at odds with Dovestar's decisions, which were based on a false StarClan, and Venomscratch, who surely knew of the divide. Waspwhisper wasn't entirely sure what to make of it, overall though, he agreed things were wrong the way they were.
While on a patrol, he, Venomscratch, and Beepaw found Flea, who they recognized as Smiles's daughter. Figuring the rogue was nearby, Waspwhisper left them to look for her. She was stronger than he'd expected, or perhaps he was weaker, but it was a close fight that didn't go unnoticed by Venomscratch, Beepaw, and Flea, who intervened. Smiles retreated, but Waspwhisper had to go to the medicine den for treatment. Beepaw and some other apprentices snuck out to stop her, but were thankfully rescued by Marigoldsear, Tansyleaf, Goldensequoia, and Larkblaze. Waspwhisper was struggling to understand how he contributed to his clan and family, and had an epiphany of sorts after a conversation at the following gathering.
RelationsBearClan
Marigoldsear : Daughter. I don't know why she's so nasty.... but... at least she is capable of good. It's like she's just as aggressive as before, but she's channeling it into acceptable targets, more often than not...
Hornetsoar : Daughter. She's independent, like her older sisters. She was the one who liked me the most, I think, she was always running after me as a kit. She's growing up now though, it's how it goes.
Goldensequoia : Son. Such a sweetheart, and ridiculously cute. He's very soft, physically and emotionally. I worry for him. He is very different from his littermates. He's stronger sure, but is he naïve?
Chamisefire : Son. He told me about what's happened to StarClan, and seems to be the most concerned about it, and he is right to be, I think. I wonder if it will cause a rift between the siblings...
Tansyleaf : Ex-wife. She knew I was growing apathetic before I did, I suppose. I don't know, I don't feel like I'm entirely here, at least not anymore. I did not mean to make you feel like a replacement.
Beepaw : Grandson. Every twist and turn of life is sharp for him, but he is built tough... he reminds me of Golden. I suppose that makes sense, Golden's been raising him since Tansybite passed away.
Oriolepaw : Grandson. He gets himself into trouble a lot... much like his parents, but somewhere between them. In nature too, he is very sweet and soft, but he also has this... uhm... weird vibe, I guess.
Honeypaw : Grandchild. I hope my grandchildren grow up healthy. Their hearing is not very good, which is kind of difficult for me since I've always had a tendency to speak softly. I'm not good at being loud.
Venomscratch : I feel bad for him, but I'm worried about him being my son's mate... he's... a greasy wreck, and even with the feud over, there are still the ties in StarClan that I am worried about.
Dovestar and Larkblaze : They're good leaders and friends, I suppose, but I am worried that they are being misled by the false StarClan and poor allies, and I'm not sure if I belong here anymore.
Bubblepaw : ... She's still here. I am a little surprised, but I suppose here is a place I've ended up after losing everything too. I heard that she's interested in Chamisefire, so perhaps she will join the family.
Mourningsky and Birdglide : They are a bit younger than my second litter. Golden and Mourning have always been pretty close friends. Hornet eyes Bird a bit, but I do not think anything is there.
DesertClan
Whiskerfall : Are... are you my daughter's friend..? That is strange. Marigoldsear isn't exactly keen on the whole friendship thing, and doesn't seem to go out of her way to speak to him anymore.
WildClan
Blossombriar : She's one of Chamisefire's friends, he says she is very nice. It's a good thing that BearClan and WildClan have started getting along, he was sticking out for being closer to them before...
ScrapClan
Shredshadow : He is my son's father-in-law, and head of the family that once opposed one Tansyleaf is a part of. He's very emotional, but the dramatic theatrics have toned down as we've grown old.
Scorpiongaze : She fought Golden's mother and sister, but she's his sister-in-law. This is all... uncomfortable. Chamise really does not like her, and he isn't as good as pretending as the others are.
FernClan
Bluestar : Seems polite... I guess... I've spoken to her before. FernClan and BearClan have never really gotten along, but I'm starting to think that they might be in the right. Things are strange.
FlareClan
DampClan
Lichenstar : It seems like everyone has some kind of opinion on her, huh? I think this stuff is a little over my head, but Chamise definitely thinks that she is suspicious, which I cannot argue with.
Horizondust : There was something unsettling about her when we met, but now she's, uh... well, it seems that she had a run-in at DampClan. Most of the cats there are very strange, I don't trust it.
Non-Clan
Lotus and Camas : Who the fuck... I guess they're relatives of Tansyleaf's? No one I know likes them though, they are just awful. I can't be too sure, but I think my younger kids know, or knew them.
Fungus : I guess we kind of had similar situations with bringing up difficult daughters, but of course very different now, haha... I need to do what's right for my kids, within my own means.
Deceased
Vixenvoice : Mate. Everything was so perfect... this shouldn't have happened. It feels like I lived my life, then there's just... all this time left afterwards. I know that's not what you want me to feel though.
Rosekit and Lionkit: Daughters. I heard that they might not be in StarClan, which is... well, awful. When they died, it was kind of the first crack in the whole illusion that everything would be okay.
Tansybite : Daughter. She was just starting to turn around... She was an absolute terror until she had children of her own. Bee remembers her as a good mother, and that's good enough for me.
Mousekit and Termitekit : My grandchildren. We lost them so suddenly. Their mother is definitely looking after them, at least, and Bee was taken in with his little cousins as siblings. Not replacements, of course.
Darkscar : Father of Tansybite's kits, for... well, some fucking reason. You can raise them, but they're their own person... He was so gross, I swatted him and I think it took off part of his tongue.
Battletear and Shiverstalk : I wish I could have thrown you both in a fire. You each hurt my son. Marigold is much more efficient than I, she was there to assist in shredding both of them, somehow.
Stormtalon : I like to imagine he was so afraid of me he'd rather die... I know Tansyleaf and I have grown apart, but of course I would run someone off a cliff all over again for something like that.
Yarrowroot : He was living among us the whole time... but, you know, that's kind of how it is in a group. You can't really just trust anyone because you happen to live in the same place with the same cats.
Kestrelmurmur : My apprentice was... er. Life-changing. Jokes aside, I will miss her, at least in whatever capacity I have to feel emotions like loss anymore. It's the thought that counts anyway, right?
Breezewing : He was a close friend of Tansyleaf's back when he was alive... I think he saw her as a mother figure? It was kind of weird. Especially in hindsight knowing that he was close to Shiverstalk.
Smiles : Uhh... I do not know what her... issue... was... I fought her a few times. She was very strong for someone who throws out her food. Losing... made me feel kind of useless, to be honest.
