Description
From the fic Naruto: Melody of the Wanderers.This is the second page, showing more around the ruins of Konohagakure and those who survived the aftermath of Pein's Shinra Tensei and invasion. Not to mention it shows the three main kunoichi, who (will occur later in the fic) have been fighting over Naruto's affections ever since he got back to Konoha at the start of the Shippuden Arc, picking themselves up after their part of the battle.
Of course, I figured maybe I should transform the fic from just being a Naruto/Tayuya, to a Naruto/Tayuya/Sakura/Hinata, I don't know. I'm still debating over it. I want to keep it small and not ruin it with too many pairings slammed together this time, I learned that the hard way.
Anyway, Hinata is helping Tayuya up with Sakura recovering in the background, and later discovering Naruto has returned to confront Pein. Whereas Tayuya (who has been with Naruto for most of his ninja career), expressed deep relief, joy and confidence at Naruto's return, Sakura and Hinata are a bit worried about the prospects of Naruto fighting. (Perhaps it's easier to understand why they are worried, is that just one of Pein's bodies was able to take down both Kakashi and Gai combined, but not kill them. It was Yahiko's body though, so it's not that surprising.)
More shall be explained in the fanfic... if I ever get up to this point. I just wanted to do the comic for the huge fight that will come.
Honestly, Naruto gets no good fight scenes in the manga at all, without either taking a beating, not having an awesomely detailed fight as Sasuke or Kakashi or Lee in the anime, or fighting completely under his own power without relying on Kyuubi, or being saved or aided.
All that God damn training in Sage Mode and he couldn't even beat Pein's last body without using the Nine-Tails to free himself. Nor was he able to successfully break out of the Sealing Chamber on that Turtle Island through just a handful of ninja guarding him, even though he was able to give Pein, the man who single-handedly destroy Konoha, a hard time?
Furthermore, he couldn't even beat the Raikage in a brief spar even though he is in Nine Tails Mode in the latest chapter? It's ridiculus! I wanted to see the God-damn Raikage get some sense beaten into him!
What the author is doing to Naruto is like putting a collar on Goku.
Everyone still treats Naruto like a child that needs to be leashed, even the author, and I'm sick of it.

I'm going to have to ask that you keep it strictly NaruTayu. Why? Because it is SO fucking hard to find a decent NaruTayu pairing. Which SUCKS because it's one of my favorites. Please post Chapter 19 soon!

Oh dear god no don't make this a harem this is the one of the only naru/tayu fanfics that are really good don't ruin it by adding more girls to it just a one on on pairing, for once..... but other than that nice job conveying the damage and love how you made the Pein fight even more badass and paring problem or not cant wait to see the full fight in the fic

So apparently Naruto or one of his Shadow Clones has come to help Hinata, which means they may end up finally talking after two years in real life.
I really hope Kishimoto doesn't decide to derail Hinata.

Well, the conversation hasn't happened yet (Maybe), but 'fortunately' the Sharingan has YET another hax power to go with its inextinguishable fire, inescapable genjutsu, invincible armor and reality-warping ability. It's. . . wait for it. . .
The RINNEGAN.
That's right. The Eternal Mega-whatever-it's-called Sharingan can turn into the Rinnegan, which means that all those abilities Nagato showed like Shinra Tensei, inherent mastery over all the elements and jutsus, the Six Paths of Pain, absorbing attacks and ripping people's souls out of their bodies? They're all UCHIHA powers.

It is so annoying. Everything leads back to the Uchiha, even the Rinnegan. I would have preferred the eyes as separate entities. It was great knowing that the Rinnegan only appeared in times of great conflict, but a step up from the Eternal Mangekyou, man that's a real kick to the crotch. I hate the Uchiha (except Itachi, Shisui and young Obito).
However, though it pisses me off, it still defines the story well. It means the Uchiha are descendants of the bad student of the Great Sage, while perhaps the Senju and Uzumaki are descendants of the good student of the Great Sage. So... go Naruto.

So I learned that Itachi confirmed that Madara was telling the truth.
Dammit.
Now the Uchiha Clan is officially a clan of evil bastards and Itachi is a (ugh) 'hero' for committing Genocide, not to mention his backup plan to 'save' Sasuke.
I'm done with Naruto Shippuden/Part 2. It's just some bad fanfiction and the only good thing about it was the character designs.

So I've heard that Madara now has his OWN Six Paths of Pein, which just what he needs, another super powerful move since it's not like he's got any other story breaking powers, and he's used the dead Jinchuuriki as the Paths. Well, there goes any chance of the other Jinchuuriki getting any development.

I just know that Madara/Kabuto/Sasuke is going to pull off a Jutsu that wipes out the rest of the Shinobi Alliance (Speaking of them, is it just me, or does that fact that they lost half their forces on the first day speak more about them then does about the brutality of the conflict or the strength of Madara's forces?) and capture Bee with and extract the Hachibi in .5 seconds.

I haven't read your fanfic, but if you ask me, I think you should keep it just a NaruTayu fic. I think if you turn it into a harem fic after you already published so much of it, some people would lose intrest in it (I know I would). If it was meant to be a NaruHarem fic, you should have made it that way in the from the beginning, so you should keep it the same.

Of course it will be believable. What I don't find believable is that Sasuke became unGodly powerful, whereas Naruto has not. If that's the case, then everything I do is justified as believable.

Compared to Senju and Madara, Naruto is nowhere near as powerful as I want him to be. The fact that the First Hokage and his rival are so damn powerful kind of contradicts the whole thing the manga had going, where everyone keeps on saying 'the next generation always surpasses the last one.'

Maybe it should stick to some competition later on till it gets to the point where Naruto clearly has feelings most strongly towards Tayuya, (the three years of training, and adventures can solidify their relationship more better). Nevertheless, you as the author, the decision is yours. Even though I'm strongly centered towards Naruto/Tayuya.

My statement on your rant is basically that this story is trying too damn hard to be what it isn't; Another Dragonball Z. That show is kinda crazy enough as it is (not to mention shafting their human cast, and eventually Piccolo as well, to the side because Saiyans basically run on Rare Candies by the handful just to beat up the villain... or punch him around until they kill him for real at his strongest)
Kishimoto even admitted that he took a lot of inspiration from the story (what with Naruto having the same orange outfit appeal as Goku, being naive yet hopeful against the odds) but the problem is that I feel Kishimoto isn't being very real with the power struggles and is like trying to measure things and is making it too rough or too light, so on and so forth and either gets the measurement right and actually records it or throws it all aside because he's writing himself to a wordwall and has to think of a new power gimmick... and goes through the same thing ALL over again. This happened with the Kyuubi chakra training with Jiraiya in his childhood, the mass shadow-clone+wind manipulation+Rasengan enhancement training Kakashi gave him in the time skip, and now the Sage training.
I personally find it ironic how the fanbase is so damn popular but is filled with people that argue how Kishimoto is running things Can't blame them, really. Naruto and Bleach are overrated as canon stories anyway. They were great initially, but staled because of trying too damn hard to be 'awesome'. At least that's my opinion, and really, with every hundred cliche stories made up by the fans, there's at least a dozen or so good ones of varying quality that in its right shows more promise than the original story, that goes against legit arguments you made. S'TarKan's Team 8, Shivakashi's Medicinal Lullaby, nobody102's Scorpion's Disciple, Jonque's The Missing Hokage, Meinos Kaien's Leadership, InfiniteDragon's Late Blossoms, and even your Melody of the Wanderers. I probably stretched the list here (7 entries) but they're all really good in my opinion and just draws me how many different kind of branching story telling one can make giving the fandom.
Point being, good to see there are people out there that are baffled by the logic this story is going. There's a difference between making stuff up just to be cool (and even more so to EFFECT) and making things believable. Given how much of a troll Madara is and how Naruto never seems to catch a fair break as far back as the Chuunin exams (tell me I wasn't the only one that felt his 'power level' (ugh DBZ) wasn't very cemented even at that time), Kishimoto is bound to make a VERY sucky ending.
Also, good artwork, though are you SURE you want to write this scene now when its likely not to happen for at least a year or so, if you're taking the plotline steady and slow?

I'm jumping back and forth, but it keeps me in practice, both fanfiction and deviantart. It's a hobby I keep close to me that helps me to improve my skills. Even if I don't finish a story, I just view it as another stepping stone. Although, I hate letting people down, so I try updating as much as possible.
Naruto is a brilliant story with amazing concepts, no question. But it also sucks. I can also say that it is an incredibly stupid story, but it is also very clever. I'm not going to rant on why though, I think you can come up with an answer for yourself.
Nevertheless, as a reader and viewer with opinions of my own, I'd like to say that the author ruined Naruto just like how the series of Dragonball Z was ruined right after the Cell Saga. I guess that the longer the story is the worser it gets. That's why Carried by the Wind and Samurai Champloo were such brilliant series'. They finished early and will grow and appreciate over time because of their fantastic stories and concepts, and will stay like that forever. People will wish they would continue them, but they ended perfectly. However, Naruto and Dragonball Z (need I mention Bleach and One Piece as well) just kept going, all the way through to the point where they get confusing, awful, fat and slow.
It's great that the fanbases for canon stories like Naruto and Dragonball Z are so big, because the fans create series and concepts of their own that are potentially more brilliant then the actual canon. It's essentially the fans that make the original stories so brilliant anyway. People can rewrite them and reshape them in their own way that makes them happy, if they are upset or disappointed in the direction the canon story has gone.
It's why I love the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 game and storyline compared to the canon storyline of Naruto. It goes off on a different tangent alongside the original storyline and essentially follows the same plot, but it brings out Naruto's real potential.

Perhaps it's the inner pervert in me, but perhaps Naruto should have a on/off relationship with Sakura, Hinata, and Tayuya, with a marriage never going to happen to make Naruto up for grabs between the three without hogging him all the time. That way, everyone's happy.

I can understand a bit of your feelings with the manga and what they doing with naruto its like everyone tugging on his leash or trying to toss him in some backwoods closet.
how is naruto to really learn and grow up if everyone holding his hand and trying to fight his battles for him which so far thats what everyone been doing to him.
and yet with all that power he has still cant quite win his battles or fights i all ways considered people with tailed beasted sealed should be very much stronger than a normal person but yet each container has lost pretty badly since now its only naruto and bee left.

Well i think you should keep it naru/tayu since so far the story been between those's two and adding anymore girls to it would imbalance the story and the plot and character growth you build with naruto and tayuya would end up being lost.
i believe when you write a new story you could do a naru/hina/saku/tayu right now melody is perfect the way its going just with naruto and tayuya.

For your pairings in Melody, just go for whatever feels right. If you think you can handle NaruSakuHinaTayu, if it can fit into the events of Melody, go for it.
And boy oh boy do I agree with you about Canon Naruto. I want to write either a fic where the Canon Verse leads to a bad future, or in one of my existing ones, Naruto sees a vision of the future, and is appalled at what he's become, and then follow up with a fight against Canon Naruto.

I think you should just keep it as NaruTayu. I've never been a fan of NaruHina to be honest, pair her up with Shino or somebody.
And yeah I get what you're saying how Naruto often takes an ass kicking most of the fight and need someone's help or some other stuff. If he was an Uchiha, he'd be able to use Plot Jutsu to win
