Sort of. The book has a supernatural theme. I tried to sprinkle in some subtle occult touches into the art.
In this scene, Mary is figuring a part of the mystery out, but isn't yet aware of how freaky her life has become.

I love the colors you've used in her face and her hair looks great. I especially love her facial expression. The little designs to the left are a little distracting, but I think it's because they're not blended in like on the right. They're...bolder?
But the rest of it is really great!

The first suggestion that comes to my mind is the composition. I think you should tighten this up a little bit to make it more interesting, especially cropping from the right. I do like the colors and her expression, though. Also, I think the painted effect is pretty good. I wish it was higher resolution, though, so it would look a bit more crisp.
P.S. If you are constrained by fitting this in a certain area on a page, I think you might want to try putting her closer to the right of the frame rather than the left.

Very real, it captures the feel of a photograph almost, yet remains visibly "made". The clouds and script-text in the background very much make the scene, though I wish I could better make out what the text said.

curls are VERY difficult to get right, but you did well! Perhaps a few moer subtle highlights would have added a tad more depth. the eyes are stunning, and i find myself wondering what she's looking at...excellant piece!

Nice textures and light source. The only thing I would suggest is varying your textures a bit instead of having the same thing all the way through the work. It sort of flattens it out a bit. Other than that I like everything else that's going on in this. Nice job.
