Description Here is a mecha design concept made for my friend, Erik , for his another on-going game project - Blow Stuff Up This 3D shooting game involves the player to pilot a mecha to do some building demolition works within a time limit (and under constant fire rounds from the city's defensive forces).

As ease of game development and testing for the two-players mode, a set of temporary 2D game sprites was made. Hence, you won't see this game sprite in action under single player mode.

Hope when I'm free again (from my study program), I can build a proper 3D model for the actual game.

Rrrrrrrough! XD It really does look very detailed in sprite size though.

Yup. You can consider the sprite version as a separate set
by themselves. This is because I added back more details and
refined the outlines and colours after shrinking them

Ah so you retouched the sprite further I see. Nice.

The game description reminds me of blast corps for n64, which was awesome! Of course in that one you had a time limit, but no one was shooting at you lol

Sounds and looks great man.

Perhaps similar in some ways.
My friend's original idea was to make a game that you can pilot a robot to do actions

Thanks. Hope the magic could be kept when I have times to build the actual 3D version.

Yeah, Blast Corpse only had two robots, and their control was limited to 'move' and 'special ability' so there wasn't a whole lot of interesting gameplay with them. The game your friend is planning sounds like it'll be great XD

I would love to see more stuff when you get the chance

Surely - though it will take at least a few more months later.
Also, my friend wanted to do a small revise over the current design.
(Probably take a while to test if that new adjustment on the proportion works or not)

BTW, I just added you into my watch list.
You also have some unique character designs

Of course! I'm not that knowledgeable about game creation, but I can imagine it takes a long time and a ton of work. I'm excited to see the latest revision. I thought I added you to my watch earlier but lo and behold, no! *click* There, fixed that. lol Thanks a ton!

I'm still learning about game making...
so far only providing concept designs and graphics support.

I shall find some times to get my hands dirty on programming part one day when I am no longer that busy.

Yup. All things are fixed.

Well without those two things we wouldn't have any games at all, so kudos!

I really like the design, seems kind of inspired by Medabots. Maybe not, but for some reason it just makes me think of Medabots. Cool design though, as far as mecha go, its more-so unique then what i've seen people do in the past. I have a hard time drawing mechanical stuff, straight lines and inorganic shapes just dont want to work for me.

Thanks. Perhaps the scale and the proportion I adapted gave you an impression that it's inspired by Medabots. Nonetheless, the design also shared a big influence from the Front Mission's mecha designs.

I used to do a lot of mecha-only drawings in the past. But at the end, I forced myself to learn and draw other genres to add more diversity to my drawing topics and improve my drawing skills. Human character drawing actually helped me to explore a different way to approach robot design. (I used to have hard times in drawing human characters, especially female ones)

Robots can have curvy lines and irregular shapes, depending which direction you aim to depict it. (like how realistic you want, etc.)

So I think you can give it a go... you may surprise that you can come up with unique mechanical designs. After all, it's for fun
