Very nice treatment
I'd like to get this kind of look on a photo I have, but don't really know how to start.
Any tips?

Weeeelllll. Do you have Photoshop? I don't know if it's on other versions, but on CS2 there's this 'Shadow/Highlight' thing and then when you pull the bars along, it makes it look kinda like an HDR image, and I pull the shadow and highlights bars across to half way so all of the tones are around the same area, and then I go to 'threshold' to make it black and white.

Basically just fiddling with stuff on photoshop and then clicking 'threshold' to turn it black and white. :D
