The Sands of Time......... It's Jake Gyllenhaal as Dastan in the upcoming movie Prince of Persia! I've drawn yet another portrait of Jake. This is the fifth, including one unfinished one. I've been wanting to do a fan art of the Prince of Persia movie, after all, I'm quite a big fan of the game series and also of Jake. Add them both and it's one highly anticipated movie for me! It was only when I bought the behind the scenes book that I spotted the perfect reference picture to use and finally start on it.It was really hard to draw to be honest, because it was so dark, I wanted to make sure I got the darkness and the tones right. The worst part was his long locks! It was slightly wet, with some of it glistening so that adds to the difficulty of drawing it. It took about 4 hours just for his hair alone!! I really wanted to stay true to his hair, so I really focused on getting each strand correct. I spent all day Sunday till 5am just so that I could complete this portrait! Can't wait to watch the movie!

This movie is really good !
I just check your gallery and i think you reach another level with this drawing ! The shadings are more pronounced and there is more highlights, maybe because of the reference picture. It really give a great result! I think shading is a great part of a drawing and you really have it here ! Plus, it looks totally like Jake!
