Just off the top of my head;
Kurgan rattled rounds off into the ceiling abruptly, the rattle of gunfire breaking the monotony of footfalls on the cold metal floor.
William turned just in time to see the marine rended in two by the impossibly fast hydralisk, snarling in animalistc fury at the surprised marine.
Before William could prepare his assault rifle, the creature leaped into the ceiling bulkheads, and vanished.
"Holy shit..." the marine whispered. He brought his rifle to his shoulder, aimed at the darkness of the ceiling. He expected attack at any moment, but it never came.
"Release me.", he heard behind him.
He turned to his prisoner, the blonde female, and as if to accentuate her point, brought her shackled wrists up for him to see and snapped the thin chain taut several times.
He grimaced at the situation. He thought the station was completely safe, and now here he was, alone with a killer alien hiding somewhere, ready to eat him alive while a deadly assassin who had tried to kill him and his now deceased partner wanted release.
"Damnit, then help me." he snapped, and grabbed the keys from the mag holster on his utility belt, and tossed them at her. Deftly she caught them and began undoing her bonds.
As soon as he had turned back around, the creature was a few hundred yards from the hallway. It hissed like a viper straight out of hell, and charged.
"Oh my God!" William shouted, but his scream was drowned out by the roar of his assault rifle. Shells coughed from the muzzle, and he called out to his recently liberated prisoner, now recently employed ally, to lay down some fire. He dared a look behind him as he changed mags and the creature, albeit slowed, kept on charging.
Gone. Empty shackles on the floor.
Another hiss, this one higher up. A second alien serpent. Shit. Well, to hell with it. I'll give them something to remember.
He thought as he slapped another mag home, shouldered the weapon, and pulled.
