Wander Over Yonder is a new cartoon from the mind of Craig McCracken that will air on the Disney Channel starting September 13, although a pilot episode has already been aired. I usually don't get into cartoons anymore, but I had some friends get me interested in this one, and it's just so cute and fun! I love it a lot!So these are all the major characters from the pilot, "The Picnic." Enjoy, and look forward to more Wander stuff from me as more episodes are released.

Yeah. I wanted him to look scarier but I'd probably draw him differently now because I've come to better know exactly how much of a dork he is.

Nice work, but I notice a few things:
1. EA: he looks like an orca
2. LH: he doesn't quite look like himself
3. Sylvia: her reins are missing
4. Peepers: he is taller than usual
5. Wander: his hair is rather longer than usual

Well, he is an orca. Isn't he? I know Wander calls him a shark guy but he always looked more like an orca to me.
I kind of stylized them all... I don't see much a point in fanart if you just copy the original style, so I altered them a bit. Of course, this was the first time I drew these characters and I barely knew them, so I'd probably portray them differently now. I need to draw them again!
Peepers IS a bit too tall though, I agree. He's no Westley but he is on the short side, even for Watchdogs.

Well, I don't know of any other animal that looks quite like that with the white/black pattern. And Wander could have just been calling him a shark out of ignorance, since it's easy to guess an orca is a shark if you don't know better. Then again he IS an alien with a humanoid body, so I'm not really sure you can compare him to an earth species at all

I only decided to watch the four episodes On Demand because the guys on the Gravity Falls podcast talked about it. Take Ren and Stimpy, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Colonel Bleep, Star Wars, and lots of methamphetamine, mix that up and add BANJO MUSIC, and you get this show. Reference He-Man and the Alien movies and Avatar (the one with the blue flying things) and Westerns and you get these episodes.
Did I mention the BANJO MUSIC?

I don't know anything about this but those look like some interesting characters!Β The shark guy looks perfect for you, ha ha.
Anyway I love the colouring style you used here - the different colours for the highlights look really cool.

I've been meaning to look at this show for a while.

Yeah! Maybe wait until more than one episode is out? Partly so you can get a better feel for it, partly because... well, I at least want more. Now. 
I do feel a bit silly for liking this show so much already, but from reading some interviews with Craig and the voice actors, it's said that the show will be very character-driven, and the tone overall will reinforce Wander's hopeful, optimistic and friendly heart. Β And the animation is gorgeous. So... similar reasons to why MLP:FiM was able to win over so many adults. It's just nice to have something so sincere and happy sometimes in a world that can be overwhelmingly cynical.

Although not for me. I can't jump onboard any ship after just one episode. Not to mention I'm usually not into that type of thing unless it's already canon. (...But only usually!)
