Interesting.  I really think if the CSA had won the war they would have ended up adopting the battle flag or some new design incorporating it as their national flag.  The blood stained banner was very much a creation of necessity, and its design reflects that.  As a result even today it is probably the least liked of flags associated with the CSA.
