Description Un mΓ©nage Γ  trois - among the flowers of my Green-winged Meadow Orchids!

Anacamptis laxiflora is a rather tall orchid - my plants are up to 3 ft, or 90 cm, high - and usually produces a lot of flowers, 20, 30 or even more. This group of three flowers, however, caught my special attention, so I decided to take a picture of them.

If you once have the opportunity to visit the UK again, or more exactly, Jersey, you can see many Green-winged Meadow Orchids blooming there. They use to flower later than those in my greenhouse, I guess in late May or early June.

Yes, I've been reading about these beauties. They are on the endangered list in Ireland, and listed as uncommon in some other places. Draycote, in Warwickshire, has a spectacular old meadow which is covered in the orchids early in June. I'd love to see that!

Yes, and in the Scottish Highlands, there are many, many other places where one can find orchids - at the right time!

Btw, have you been to the places where Canadian orchids grow? For instance, I read of landscapes with thousands of ladyslipper orchids.

The Bruce Peninsula, jutting out into Lake Huron has a wide selection of orchids. I haven't been up there, but I would love to plan a trip soon.

Yes, they are! Behind the orchids, there is a window covered by a fleece, in order to keep neighbor's cat out of the greenhouse. This fleece can be used as a highlighted background.
