How have things been..? And have you been talking with Rebecca Kling? She's so awesome- I met her at the Summit thing.. and she heard my coming out story and she's just.. awesome. X) so inspiring..

In other news- I deleted my facebook after my mom got mad at me for posting pictures of myself and my friends at Pride.. :/ she thinks that people will assume I'm gay just because I was at pride. Haha.. no. -sigh- so.. I'm not going to have a facebook for at least.. a while, but I will eventually.. but I can give you my personal email in case you don't want to stay on dA- you can reach me there. But you do have my cell at least- haha, last time I saw you, I was in my 'Lebanese' shirt..! X)

Oh- I have a TON of gay art, by the way.. X).. lots of girl/girl art, so maybe you'll enjoy that.. :3 .. mostly glee art because I am obsessive over Brittany and Santana.. but whatever.. X)

I wouldn't mind having your email, but i promise to be on DA more. also that sucks about your Facebook and the like. i have been talking to Rebecca, but it has been very fleeting, she is not on much on gmail because she travels alot educating. and yes I remember the shirt, i loved it. Im not much of a glee fan, but id love to take a look at your art. i havent posted anything in ages, and on anything i had was on my old account which i forgot what it was, and i also hated my artwork. ive missed you too, how be you?

It was kind of ridiculous- my mom just got angry over virtually nothing.. I mean.. I had lots of straight friends at Pride, .. just because you go to pride doesn't necessarily mean you're gay.. -_- my mom isn't well educated in this. .. . May I ask, has it gotten.. at least a little easier to talk to your parents about LGBT topics as you've matured..? I'm having problems even bringing it up now with my parents.. X_X.. it's hard being an only child, and they have so many expectations..

Ah yeah- Rebecca's so amazing though I am so glad you two met- I was actually going to get her card so I could introduce you two, when I realized that you two had already met! Haha! I said that I knew you, and she said "Oh cool- how do you know Rika?" and we just talked for a bit and it was great

I'm only a glee fan because of the girls.. heheee...

Awww.. :< don't hate your artwork.. I'm sure it's awesome.. I'd love to see some of it- whether it be sketches or photography.. or literature.. anything's cool to me..

The answer is no, for never it never got easier. i still cringe every time my parents talk about something LGBT. and it has gotten worse now that im dealing with it at university. i fear my parents. but thats just me. i guess it depends on your family. but i wouldn't give up hope there also ill send you a random email to add you to my list of emailed people. and i know about high expectations, but im not an only child, which makes it worse when parents find out that their oldest child is a lesbian, it freaks em out no matter if i was an only child or not.

Aww.. I'm so sorry about that but know that you're so incredibly brave, Rika.. seriously- if I were in your shoes, about to go into college.. I'd be so frightened.. but.. you're so strong, really..

How have things been at the university..? And.. may I ask, .. have your parents accepted things yet..? Or not totally just yet..? (gah, sorry, I bombard people with too many questions.. ^^'..)

I'm sort of afraid of my parents too.. because .. they're kind of all I have in a weird way. If they deny who I am.. if they disapprove of who I may love, that's.. one of the worst things they could do..

I'm having the same issue. My parents won't even say the word lesbian. XD that's how ridiculous it is! They like to say "Oh.. you're just upset and having issues because you're gay, right?" .. it's so irritating. They think my depression/anxiety stemmed from my realization of being gay. .. not true. XP

My first classes don't start till September, but both the housing department and the dean of students have called and super supportive.. which kinda freaks me out. and my father will never accept it, my mom is just floating in the middle. also im not brave, im just dumb and speak my mind all the time. and i know how you feel about your parents, but i try to break away from mine because even if they deny who i am, they are the past, you are the future, and those that you will come to love in the future will treat you the way you deserve. That quote really pisses me off, thats just mean and unfair, and untrue. i sent you an email on gmail, so yeah, when im on we can chat!

Your dad doesn't accept it..? That's horrible. .:< maybe eventually he will. Rebecca said it took her parents a while (I think?) .. so.. I guess just .. wait it out a bit.. but I think you'll be okay. You always have friends who accept you and that's amazing within itself X)

I don't think you're dumb for speaking your mind- I find that really brave

So.. you're trying to sort of disconnect from your parents..? I feel like that too.. but.. at the same time, I'd feel horrible.. since.. they're really clingy of me since I'm an only child and they have all these expectations n'stuff.. and now they're afraid that I'm gonna just run off and try to stay at a LGBT center in Chicago or something (which I've damn well considered.. but.. I don't have the guts to do it.. )

i find the support creepy, also were talking 5 years, my parents have not accepted it after 5 years, thats way too long a time. anyway, you love your parents, but i don't think that going to the center will help. hell Howard Brown has changed their stance, they only really help paying clients.

Aww.. you told them 5 years ago and yet they still haven't accepted it..? Oh my.. :< perhaps they're hoping it's a phase.. that's what my parents are hoping for.

I suppose a center wouldn't help much.. but.. I have other really bad issues with my parents.. that I don't usually talk about in support group because it's sort of out of context. My dad's a drug addict- addicted to pain meds. So it's difficult to live with him.. especially when he insulted my girlfriend.. it was bad. -sigh- but I think you know what happened since I told everyone really.. ah well..

Is therapy helping you..? I stopped going to therapy, but my parents go to therapy (just them) and that might be helping them..

therapy has been a bit rocky, and i dono, it helps but i'm just tired and i wish i had a female therapist instead of male, but its fine

Ah yeah- it's always awkward when you just want another girl to talk to. I had a 64 year old dude therapist who insisted I was in love with my childhood friend who died when I was 13 and he was 16. -_- I talked about him a lot because I missed him and he died in a terrible way, and I was depressed about that and he just insists that I'm in love with him.. -_- when I wasn't.. so weird. XD
