I've read the books. Love 'em. The queens they were huge and always depicted a bit smaller than they actually were in the books.
A huge glistening golden dragon would be quite a sight.
I also liked Anne McCaffery's Doona series and the Freedoms landing series.

In my opinion, the eyes are a bit too far pointing forward for a Pern dragon
as I recall the eyes of the fire lizards evolved to watch the sky for the thread
So I always imagined their eyes as more angled upward

I liked Ruth, but Ruth always seemed a little too immature.
For Pern, I forget his name, but he was the first dragon to fly Lissa's? Flar's dragon? Been too long ago to remember names, and a web search didn't help.
Now, if you had mentioned the Valheru and their dragons, then I'd say Rhuagh.

that he wasn't interested in flying a female dragon (see item 3)
I think there were other examples, but it has been a while. I don't mean he "acted immature," but literally he seemed to be immature

they pointed out he was infertile and his size was stunted he was suppose to be a dud in the egg (or could say a runt). It was stated that he didnt care of who his rider was with even though as lord holder as he had to make certain decision so can be concluded that as long as his mate wasn't a rider that it would work for him to keep the white because in all their minds they didn't think Ruth would survive and would still allow him to be a Holder. Think of him as asexual which in no way makes him immature. but I can see where your coming from

...um, I don't think anybody KNEW he was infertile. He was supposedly almost as big as Mnemoth (if not bigger) when he was full grown (I think this wasn't described in the story, but it was drawn in "The Dragonlover's Guide to Pern"), and his rider (Jaxxom?) had speculated that he might be able to capture a female dragon (a green, or blue, maybe even a brown, if not a gold), flying her. However, Ruth, again, seemed disinterested.
A runt puppy, or kitten, isn't infertile, and as far as size full grown, runts can become exceedingly large full grown.
The reason everyone was concerned that his flyer had impressed on Ruth, was because they suspected Ruth (a runt at birth) wouldn't live. If you remember the first story started out about a rider who lost his dragon in practice and how it nearly destroyed the rider. How good or stable would that be for a Lord Holder to lose his dragon and thereby want to die? They wanted to stabilize the Holds and Weyrs, not destabilize them.
I think you are overly concerned that "immature" casts a negative connotation, when actually it means essentially, the same as "asexual." Ruth is undeveloped, unfinished, unripe, deviant, untypical, not normal. Some people, as I suspect McCaffrey was, think that "freaks" shouldn't mix with the rest of a group, whereas I'd simply call it the potential for an evolutionary development. Much like some people think albinos are sterile.

I love how your colors always look so nice and smooth even on colored papers. The little bit of texture from the paper looks neat in some areas.
