"Raven!"
Beast Boy sprinted across the battlefield, falling to his knees by her side with hands clasping her head as his eyes began to burn with tears. Her eyes rolled about in her head as she tried to stay awake, and her hand weakly gripped his arm.
Then he saw the light leave her eyes, her grip loosened, and she became still.
He began to weep, drops of rain falling from the beast to the beauty, upon the pure alabaster of her skin. His body shook, wracked over and over, yet hardly a sound came from him.
All at once, a flood of feeling unlike before rushed through him, images of her flashing in his mind: Her beautiful amethyst eyes glinting behind her mask of apathy; The way her face would change when just the right moment arose in her book; Looking through the wisps of steam rising from her morning tea, face so secretly contented. He even caught her scent--lavender, and the vague smells of her magic-- from the air. Then it was gone. His head hung low. All at once, a voice boomed from the grayness which enveloped him.
"She's gone, green boy!And I suggest you pay attention to the foe before you, lest he tired of seeing you mourn and decides to kill you as well! Haha!"
The world immediately sharpened.
Beast Boy's shoulders rose, his body sharply tensed, and a low, deep growl crept forth from his throat. The team behind him was at once apprehensive... they knew that sound.
The menace chuckled.
"Ohh, is doggy going to bite me?"
A deadpan voice cut the air.
" I'm going to pull out every one of your teeth. One by one."
He stood up as his body began to change. His voice deepened further as fur erupted from his skin. A ragged snarl ripped from his throat as he cried,
" And I'm going to wring your neck while you eat them!"
The Beast turned, its long fangs fully bared and gleaming in the faint light, smoldering eyes boring into his prey. The man's confidence was shattered, and he sent his drones after the monster, and swung his staff back and forth. The energy exploding from the staff rolled off of the Beast shoulders as would water. It lunged at him, tearing through drone after drone as its roars became ever wilder. Fear creased the villain's face, as his bolts of energy continued to fall like stones to the ground. He turned to escape, to flee this... aberration. The click of claws against concrete, and the Beast was crouched before him, blood and oil dripping from its gaping jaws. Then... it spoke.

"You will die slowly for her. I want to hear you scream and cry. I want you to BEG for hell!"
Razor sharp claws rent his face, and a scream was already at his lips when fangs ripped at his chest, pulling his bones from him with sickening cracks. There would be no jail, no bail, no fleeing. The monster was in full control, and the man in its eyes was nowhere to be found. Blood fell like crimson tears to the pavement, and the air was pierced countless times by the endless pain. Starfire buried her face into Robin's chest, and Cyborg could only stare in silence, thick silence, at the carnage. To approach would be to invoke something more from it.
Then it ended. All at once, a fist came down upon the villain's throat, cracking the pavement underneath and crushing flesh into the stone. With a final motion, its teeth fell upon his face, breaking bone and leaving no sign that there ever was a man to this body. The red pool, morbid mirror, widened around the monster as it tossed its head into the air. A blood-curtling howl chilled the night for miles, drenched in pain and sorrow.

It began to shake as fur fell from its body. It slowly changed back into the youth. The team was almost afraid to approach. He finally stood, torn suit falling raggedly on his shoulders, and walked towards them. His voice shook,
"Dammit."
Cyborg put a hand on his shoulder.
" It's... alright, BB, you couldn't control yourself--"
" He died too quickly. I never made him eat his teeth."
He shrugged off the hand and walked away in the direction of the Tower. He could still smell it... the lavender.
