Tale as old as time...

Hey look, real art! I wanted to post this yesterday, but everything was a bit chaotic yesterday with all the pranks and such. I didn't want people to overlook it on accident. So here this is.

I saw a few people doing these with their own OTPs and thought, "Hey, this story would actually fit these two well. Damien was evil and tried to kidnap Yoshi, but Mario came to the rescue and traded places with Yoshi, making him the prisoner in Damien's lair. Later they fall in love and, well, you know the rest..."

I needed an excuse to draw ponytail Mario, and I kinda dig it. I won't do it a lot, but maybe at some points in the comics. This took me about a week to finally finish up, but I stalled a lot. I had the whole week off for Spring Break, so I was lucky to have some drawing time at last.

I also tried to do some Disneyesque shading and such, but honestly, I would have shaded this way for anything else.

No references were used except the character models for designing the male version of Belle's outfit and the Beast's outfit.
