Daskandar - Lord of the Sandstorms, is a deity in the Amadir (D&D) campaign I´m running.

Daskandar is a powerful spirit who is worshipped above all in the deserts, but is also is worshipped in the deserts, but also in their peripheral areas. There are also many shrines in his honor and even some temples, but you can count them on one hand.

Daskandar can take many forms, male and female both, and when he shows himself, it is usually in the form of a tornado, coming with lightning and speaking with the voice of roaring thunder. Like most of the gods associated with wind and storm, Daskandar is a wild and impetuous deity, full of rage and the urge for free expression.

Travelers, caravans and inhabitants of the desert regions ensure that the temples are supplied with everything they need and also make offerings to Daskandar. In return, Daskandar's clerics pray to him and ask him to be merciful to the donors. Human sacrifices are not important to him... he takes them himself when he feels like it by turning himself into a sandstorm that suffocates you or tears the flesh from your bones.

There are no Templars of Daskandar, but there are monks. The clerics, monks and temple servants have no interest in worldly luxuries and devote their entire lives to their God and the Chronicle of Daskandar, their holy scripture. According to their faith the dead become sand and thus part of the desert, which lives eternally through Daskandar who lives and grows forever.
