First time using my new copics, derp.I haven't really gotten the technique down yet.
Also, my scanner made the colors a lot brighter. The skin isn't that orange-ish IRL. XD

Not as my main career, but if possible I'd like to stay in the art circle I'm in right now.
I don't earn much with it but it's something. XD And it keeps me going.
Without it I would probably go into a major artblock.

I'm not really interested in realistic art. XD Because I love manga style so much and the fantasy elements of it. I think realistic art is pretty boring. Since when drawing real humans you're stuck with a lot less colors. I've never come across a person with real pink hair. XD
Well we decide on a theme, like the next art book will be Mahou shoujo and then the ideas just pop out of my head. Otherwise I don't really know what to draw. XD

I have to practise it, because I'm expected to take on art. And manga is not recommended, so I thought I'd balance my knowledge on both. Yes, I agree! It doesn't have to be REALISTIC. Yeah it is, I hate practising it, but I know I have to. Yeah, I prefer to add random colours and go adventurous. Ha ha, me neither, it'll be cool though XD
Oh right, yeah, if I don't have drawing tasks to do, I don't know what I draw either, I just end up doodling random things.
I hate those books that teach you how to draw manga, it's always the basics which I already know, like expressions. I want to know more about clothes, colouring and anatomy. Those books aren't helpful to be tbh. Do they help you?

I used to have tons of those books but they never helped me improve. XD
I think looking at real manga is 1000 x more helpful.
Because half of those books aren't really 'real' manga style. It's a mix between American cartoons and manga.
When I don't have inspiration for backgrounds or poses I just look through my manga.

I think you'd be better at teaching then them lol. The only one that helped me a bit was the anatomy one.
Yeah. I agree. It's better looking on the internet for tutorials from dA artists IMO.
For backgrounds, I mainly doodle or look for references. And for poses, I use my little wooden person and move it's joints to create a pose.

Wow, pretty good for your first time with Copics. xD If you want some pointers or advice on shading with them, though, you could try asking =MikiClover . .o. I never really got the hang of markers, so I can't really help you there. xD

I probably draw the strokes too slowly, because I'm afraid to make mistakes.

And yeah; I normally do quick strokes, but it's still hard for me to get the hang of it. ;_; I think the best way is to plan where you're going to shade and make an outline for it, but that's only if you're cel-shading. xD; I still have no idea how to soft-shade with markers, but I'm assuming you just switch between the dark and light color to make them blend somehow. .-.

It probably works better if you a lot of different shades of one color. XD
Right now I'm considering just mixing copics with colored pencils to give it a soft middle shade.
I did it with the clouds so they can work together.

Ah, yeah. I'm more a fan of pencils, but I never really learned how to color traditionally. xD;;; I've been trying out traditional art again lately though, mainly since I'm back in school and can't use my computer there. -n-;;; I think you just have to experiment with them though. xD
I'd tell you to ask ~Y-and-Y for some advice, but she's been on hiatus for a while now. OTL I'm sure she'd be able to help you, since this is a WIP of hers that she colored with markers > [link] . <_<;;;;;;;;;;;;;; ...And I just noticed the way we shade hair is kinda the same; I guess it's something you pick up from doing traditional art. xD;

I like coloring with colored pencils, but you need to buy a good set.
The one I've got right now colors like...heavenly good.
It does cost a lot though, but it was worth it.
In total I have almost 100 different colored pencils. XD Some colors are ( almost ) the same though.

I wish the series was longer though. Most Magical girl anime are 50 + episodes.
And me and some friends will also be putting together a mahou shoujo artbook so I need to practise drawing them all.

No, I think your traditional is better. The tools you use make it look naturally more detailed. And it still has your attention to shading and creases and highlights and stuff.

Your scanner looks pretty compassionate, too me. Or maybe it empathizes with everyone's monitors and intentionally dumbs down the quality of your work.

Die achtergrond is vooral met kleurpotloden, ik kan nog geen grote vlakken met copics. De wolken zijn een combinatie van licht blauw copics en blauw kleurpotlood.
