heh, this looks like crap!yurp, it's Miguel and Tulio from The Road to El Dorado. love that movie. it makes me smile. and don't anybody tell me they aren't meant to be together! these two are technically canon; Dreamworks just decided to tank the original idea since it would hurt a bunch of idiots' little sensitivities... anyway, i've been listening to my Elton John playlist and the TRtED soundtrack came up and i felt it was about time for me to fanart these two. um...i didn't really have reference, so...yeah. it looks bad. sorry. maybe i'll do a better one soon. who knows...XP

It might have a few things here and there that could be improved upon, but the main part, the emotion and the poses are perfect. An excellent picture.

dude... tulio's face, I just. my mind is blown from the perfectness of the expression, it's so in his character. and that hand is insanely well drawn and arghh. the ear is positioned a bit too high up but otherwise I swear you pinned the anatomy of everything too. AND THE FOLDS.
also miguel baaw you sweet thing. I really like his look here even if the face isn't as spot on as tulio's is. the positioning of them is great too. so caring on miguel's part and just trying to cope on tulio's. I love these two so much so tons of love for you for drawing them so well! definitely one of the best drawings I've seen of them ever. <3

I try to give the kind of comments I want to get, and I know how valuable critisism is (: but oh gosh, I agree with you. actually I find them both pretty hard to draw - tulio for his drawn.. out...ness, which really isn't something I find easy to do in my style, and then miguel for his nose, because I never seem to get it right. xD so I definitely get what you mean about him being hard to draw. sideviews are the worst, but I think you got this better than I could have. C: -ohgod I want to draw fanart for this movie too it's so long overdue aagh-

duuuuuuude, draw it!! this one came out of nowhere, actually...maybe the right moment just has to hit. Tulio is actually much easier for me to draw; i'm used to thin characters. but you are so right on man, Miguel's nose is ridiculously hard...which is part of the reason i went sideview in the first place. i just got so frustrated! XD

duuude, I'm totally on it! sketched up a few .. minithings yesterday (inschoollawl) and I want so much to get to work cause I love these two to death and also cause I haven't been inspired to draw something for ages. xD but me and my procastrinationness might get in the way SO WE SHALL SEE but I remain hopeful. : D
ahah, I'm not very good with thin characters, especially not thin faces, but I try! I think drawing these two will be good practise anyway xD one all thin and lanky and one all... not.
and ahaha man you draw side views better than I do, anyway. xD I think it looks okay. but still this picture makes up for that with its sheer nommyness as far as body language go. <3

thin figures tend to be easier when you start with a full-on stick figure and just flesh it out slightly. muuuch easier.

Yeah, they didn't change this until the last moment really, so the subtitles on the original English videotapes (they're very difficult to find, sadly) still have them calling each other petnames, like 'darling'.

yes indeed!! you can totally tell from the songs on the soundtrack too...they're all lovey-ish and you KNOW none of them is about chel. XD so yeah...the soundtrack is really the only thing that kept the original plot alive. thank you Sir Elton John, we love you dearly...
