Description People holds many things to be true while others are only considered as myths and legends. What they have considered facts were studied by others, while what they have considered myths are only read about in leisure. Unicorns are thought of as a mere mythical creature by many, however, I hold the existence of unicorns to be true.

The unicorn, much unlike the docile image of the present day, was described as impossible to tame throughout legends of many ethnicities. Cetsias, an ancient greek physician described the creature to hold a size of a donkey, with a burgundy head and a white body, and a single horn on its forehead. Julius Ceaser has also described a similar creature. He described the unicorn with an intimidating image of having a deer's head, elephant's feet and a long horn protruding out of its forehead. In the Asian tales it has taken the name of quilin. The quilin was described with the body of a deer, the lead of a lion, and carries a long horn. A widespread legend is that when Noah gathered two of every kind of animal, he neglected to gather unicorns, which is why we don't see them today. The legend made us assume that unicorns don't exist anymore, and as much truth they will ever hold in others' opinions, they are considered extinct. I, however,  will continue to believe in the existence of unicorns. I believe that there are still unicorns out there, but after Noah's neglectance, they have learned to shun humans. Human beings have already failed their trust once, and is not given a second chance. The price of an entire species is far too large to risk.

Unicorns are dismissed as merely mythical creatures, for they are unseen by humans today, and the only accounts of such a creature only exists in myths and legends.I believe such legends and myths to hold as much truth as the words that are considered facts in the present day. Myths and legends often have  just as much history, if not more, as with the so called facts. As the popular proverb goes, "seeing is believing". It is because people cannot see proof with their eyes, that they choose to dismiss such as untrue, unconfirmed truths, and so called myths. I do not think that is necessarily true to believe only after you've witnessed them with your eyes. Abstract concepts, such as happiness and anger are unseen, yet they are able to be defined as existing. Unicorns are only described in legends, however, I believe that legends are valuable, and contains as much truth in them as the present day 'facts', and unicorns to exist just as the abstract feelings of happiness does. Only because they are valuable and hold certain truths to be believed in, that they are able to be passed down through generations and continue to stand in present day.
