This is wonderfully done! I was snooping through your other comments, just looking for somewhere to start on the comments, and I agree with others that he does look cold. Just a little bit of insight on what he is enduring on the planets surface. I was reading that you were leaning towards a sandstorm? Well, I would love to remind you that on the planet he is on it would be "Pitch Black" and, therefore, most light sources would make the sand look very pale.Β

At any rate, I think that your choice of colors and pose are very unique and interesting. It is also good to see that someone is actually painting, by hand, something as wonderfully done as is. I am very happy to see that someone is still using the basics and proud to show it. I understand that digital art is less expensive and provides nearly the same result, but there is something about an artist and a paintbrush that can never be equaled on the digital side. At least, that is my opinion. I am sure that some digital artists would find this offensive, but I do not mean for it to be.Β

Anyways, before I talk myself into a whole, I wish you the best of luck in the contest! Β

being a traditional artist is kind of tough in these contests but I actually made the semis for the insidious contest.(Really didn't expect to so it was a pleasant surprise) Β It gave me a drive to keep trying more contests..Thank you for your thoughtful comment. I love painting very much. Iv'e considered buying and learning the digital programs to branch out but i'm a little nervous to learn art all over again in a new way....kind of intimidating. But I do love the look that digital art can achieve. It would also be nice to have the freedom to "Edit" or erase things I don't like. Thanks again! Β

Yeah he looks cold. I like it. I thought the contest was for original art , so I figured it would be a good learning experience. Though after about a week it seems like a lot of peeps are just editing pre existing images. Anyways kudos to you sir for so,e original art.

Thank you! I was leaning more towards a sand storm but I agree....looks a little more like snow haha had to use a lighter color so the bits would show up against his skin color and not blend in with him A more copper tone to the sand would have vanished on his skin lol

Yes they definitely add up! I buy from hobby lobby online. I'm about to try learning digital art because of the expense. I do sell quite a bit of my art as well though on ebay...helps bigtime with expense.
