Just finished this one and is a first attempt at something new. I guess you can say a different twist on multi-media? I painted the owl on a pressed and dried oak leaf (a real leaf). Then encased it with clear resin with other plants I pressed. It has a slight shadow box effect on the top of this box. But for a first try it came out better than I expected. You almost have to use resin because the pressed leaf is kind of fragile. As are the other pieces of plants.
I got the idea from people who paint on feathers, why not leaves? And it's functional you can store stuff in it. I'm always thinking outside the box, lol.
