Shy, aloof with new people, loyal to those she knows well. Sweet, affectionate and appreciative. Can be spooky and skitterish but has a lot of try regardless of her fears. Doesn't mix much with other horses and prefers to keep to herself. Intolerant towards foals or young children. She was Cas's first horse, but sold after the cross country accident that left Aura blind in one eye, and Cas with a prosthetic leg. Many years on, Aura found her way, by luck or fate, back to Cas, where they have had to face their traumas together. Aura arrived at Phoenix Dawn severely underweight and seems to struggle with keeping weight on. Aura has excellent joints for a mare in her early teens so seems to have done little mileage since the accident. Conformationally, she is quite long limbed and lanky, with high withers and a sloping crop. Though she lacks substance at first glance, and appears somewhat fragile, she has dense bone and a deep barrel. She has a rather typey head without being extreme, and has excellent shoulder and hind limb angles that give her an unrivalled reach when she starts to move. Despite her blind eye, she shows a talent for jumping and is a "knees to ears" pony, and has great energy when schooling on the flat. Simply, she just loves to have a job and does it with all her heart. It's uncertain whether she'll ever actually show again, but as she was never obtained for such purposes; Cas only cares that the mare is happy and healthy. Due to lack of papers and her health, Aura will never be open for breeding.
