I have always been really inspired by squirrels. Their ability to climb in trees and make incredible leaps amazes me. Few days ago I had an idea of this picture. Little fairy squirrels helping each other to pick up glowing flowers. I didn’t have time to draw it back then. Today I finally had time to draw this picture. The squirrels are quite hard to draw but I like how the picture turned out. I’m not sure yet if I add the wings or not. The wings look funny on squirrels because of their large and fluffy tails…
The picture was really complex to colour. I had to use strong and thick colours all the time becouse of the dark background. The light effects on the fur were really hard to make whit the thick paint... and there were six of them!

I like the color scheme of the light bulves/flowers in white and around it.
Though the dominant color is blue, which is supposed to be cold, it looks really warm.

Yes, the shining flower is very nice, and I like how you painted the ground. Maybe the edges are too sharp on squirrels... the squirrels are usually fluffy.
Again the upper left squirrel stretching to the flower seems the most adorable to me, especially with those light effects.

Yes, the edges of the squirrels are a bit too sharp. The sharp edges are a result of the masking fluid that I used to protect the characters and the flowers while painting the background. I did my best to soften the edges a bit.
The upper left squirrel is my favourite too.

Yes, the colours are really really bold. I wanted to paint a dark background and becouse of it the other colours had to be bold or otherwise they would have looked pale compared to it. I'm glad you like it.

I like the blue colours too. The bottom colour was made by taking some of the colour away whit paper before the colour dries.
