Description The young lion is hesitating whether to attack the strange spiky thing or not. 8D

Porcupines are freaking hard to draw. @_@ I have an old flyer of some wildlife VHS series. I thought some pics on it were good, so I kept it. I used it as a reference for this drawing. I have no idea how long this took me to draw, cuz I had started it like a month ago. I didn't get around to finish it until today. I messed up the proportions a little, but I hope you still like it. XD;
Drawn with mechanical pencil on printer paper.

PS: I have a job interview next week. ON MY BIRTHDAY! DX *dies*

I love the look on his face and the way he's standing so far back from the porcupine.

I bet that porcupine was hard to draw O.o I can't imagine putting in all of those quills!

whoa Your realistic drawings have gotten great too. You've gotten so much better in such little time.

I absolutely love the porcupine. It's awesomey done. Very detailed. How big do you usually draw? Because some things are so detailed I'd think you would need to draw it bigger than the format you see here. I love how you even added the striped pattern on his spikes.
The lion is also very good. Nearly perfect. Hos body is very well done. His right front paw seems a little weird though. But I think that's the lions fault for holding it in a weird way XD

I absolutely love it. 10/10

Really? I never noticed. I haven't even done realism for a long time.

Thank you! Well, I draw on A/4 paper, but I never use all of it... *finds original drawing* this one is about 25x13 cm in real life. Haha, it's actually smaller than the digitalized format you see here. I usually don't draw in a very large size, that's why I use a mechanical pencil.
The lion is a bit too thin. XD; Yeah, maybe I screwed up the paw, or it was weird on the photo as well.

wow... XD I would be able to add such details on such a small drawing. Chapeau. I usually draw really small too (maybe even smaller than you sometimes... (but far less detailed XD)

Ffff, it was like that: one day I decided I'd draw realism and then drew realism. I just knew how to do it, but I also didn't improve at all in 3 years.

That's why I use mech pencils. 8D They allow you to draw very thin lines, so you can do the small details.

You're pretty great at it. I tried going for technical drawings (because I like planes and cars) but I fail pretty bad at it, get depressed and stop drawing.

hmmmm.... weird. I must be using crappy mechanical pencils... mine are really dark, thick and hard to work with. What size do you use? I think mine are 0,7 mm.

I don't think it really matters, I never checked what kind of lead I used... *goes off to check* Mine are 0,5 mm B and 2B leads.

yup and when you get out a ruler it looks even worse.

hmmm think the size matters. I've drawn with a 0,5 once and it was a lot thinner than a 0,7. Meh I prefer normal pencils really, I sharpen them so much they become life threatening so I can draw really small.
