Oil on Canvas 70 x 50 cmThis is the last painting I made for the CafΓ© Poliziano, and in fact the background IS the cafΓ© itself !
The image is roughly based on a photo I took of my friend Sophia (but I changed her, and the whole, a bit).
This mirror is in some way a 'magical' mirror showing the character's true self, invisible to the 'normal' eyes

comunque mi piace molto la realizzazione: il viso pulito della modella "mora" e' davvero davvero ben realizzato come anche la sua espressione.

The Maiden and the Crone is what I see once I put my eyes on this piece. Really. It's beyond any nifty judgment or new-born ideas. You really went to the core ov her Soul...ah you amaze me.
Mirrors are Magic...try enter inside one and you'll see what I mean...magical Self, the Medusae ov Geist.

very beautiful and perfect for a cafΓ© piece. This image portrays a sense of wanting or missing. The reflection of ourselves sometimes doesn't fit the image we have in our own minds. I feel sometimes when i look into a mirror that i am stranded in this place, with questions, no answers. I feel that i am looking at an old soul, the youth has disappeared long ago, the lines have yet to make it to the face, but the years i do feel in my aching bones. Sometimes its the beauty we see, sometime a lost child, sometimes a vision of what we want. But more or less its a reflection of something! Who knows, the mirror could be tricking us. The warm rustic colors are great, i love how the woman is wearing a casual sweater and relaxed in one image, and in the reflection she is dressed up some wearing a nice v-line dress, hair done up. Bello!!

Funny, this reminded me of when I was about 4 or 5 years old and I could only be brave enough to touch the mirrors with gloves on...something about mirrors were so impressive at that age...glad to see that I was somehow right about its magical atributes...

Se fosse così significherebbe un tuo momentaneo
filone in cui la dualitΓ dell'uomo e della donna
la fanno da padrone...ma magari non Γ¨ quello
che volevi intendere. Io vedo una versione di
Sophia con i capelli scuri, la maglia alta e un'altra
che Γ¨ l'opposto...la cosa che comunque mi ha
particolarmente colpito di questo dipinto e lo
sguardo perso (o assorto ?) della modella...
