That's a myth. "Assassin" actually comes from the word "Hassassin" which translates into "follower of Hassan", it's Persian. Hashish is said to be Arabic, not Persian. Also, Hassan was a strong prohibitionist against Hash, due to the Koran's ban on alcohol he argued that it banned all intoxicants. His assassins were completely drug free.
