I don't know why, but she seems to remind me of Lena Kendricks from Tears of the Sun. I guess just her description and her style reminded me of that. Her background story is wonderful and so heartfelt.

Oh, maybe) I have to check who's Lena Kendricks))

Agnieszka doesn't have a prototype, though my best friend Christina thinks she's very similar to her nature, while Zven is my alter-ego. But I must say, each of my creatures contains a little piece of me))

You will see the last two characters of this story soon)) Elsa will come first, Leo will be the next and the last))

She is a nurse in Africa during their civil war. Agnieszka looks like she is a very strong (yet can be stubborn at times) character. I don't know just the moment I saw her, she reminded me of that character.

Her bio sounds interesting and passionate. If you made a story between Zven and Agnieszka with drawings, it sounds to be incredible. I ppretty love it.

Her hair is awesome too

What the above poster said was true, but the problem in Poland was pretty huge. We were inviting Jewish people over to escape the Holocaust until we believed we were becoming over-crowded.

Anywho, this is gorgeous! I love her design!

yeah…

I just realized something, my parents and your parents grew up in a world where there was a real possibility of the world ending in a nuclear war… yet now look at us, we are communicating in a way that would have been unthinkable.

Even more, we can feel kinda tolerance to each other. Though, you know, in Russia we have a real threat of civil war caused with the growing hatred to inhabitants of Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan, especially because of the country overpopulation with the illegal migrants...

US is to blame for that messed up situation with Afghanistan… not sure about the other two countries, but yeah it's got to suck.  We have the same problem with Mexico, but the government wants to just naturalize the people so that we can tax them since it's next to impossible to keep our border closed.

The situatoin here looks very similar.

The most offensive thing for me is that the majority of all those migrants knows nothing about our culture, they don't know the language at all, don't respect us and our country and behave like the owners. It's nearly impossible to get a job here because the migrant are everywhere, our establishments consider them to be much more favorable to employ. I have no job now actually 'cause of this. I have nothing against those people until they behave disrespectfully. 'Cause of the current situation I begin to think about the era of the Golden Horde more and more often...

Yeah I know what you mean…. it is hard.  Honestly though, I don't think I could learn Russian even if I tried.  Your language and alphabet is very different, and I'm so amazed at how much you know about my language (english)… because it's so different.  I think I have a very stereotypical view of Russian culture and it's limited as much of the history we are learning about in the West was locked down during Communism, so now things are coming out and we are learning more and more.  This sounds sad, but for the longest time the only things I knew of that came out of Russia was ballet, classical music, Tolstoy, Marxism, and Faberge Eggs… :/  Oh and Vodka….  (but vodka and I don't get along too well, I get the worst hangovers from vodka….)  And gymnasts and ice skaters…. amazing ice skaters…

Amaryllex In reply to ThermidorResistance [2013-11-29 10:03:05 +0000 UTC]

I've been studying English for nearly all my life) I began studying languages when I was only 4 years old. I usually have no big problems with languages 'cause I think any language is a fantastic masterpiece which needs to be just understood. It was a great pleasure to study English and French and I still can remember German basis. Certainly, my English is very imperfect. I had a difficult period in my life which made me forget a great part of my knowledge. Therefore now I am very glad I've returned back to DA to start communicating with English-speakers. My knowledge starts to come back and this is great!^^

If talking about the migrants, I think there is kinda need for them to know Russian basis. Just imagine - we have taxi drivers who don't understand a word in Russian, it's useless to try to explain them where to stop the car. I don't see any sense to take such people for such work. It is necessary to have at least a minimum of knowledge. The same situation there is with sellers, cashiers, builders...

Oh well, yes, Russians also have outdated representation about American and European people. Just because they got used to such an opinion and it is so difficult to change you mind. The first things we usually imagine while talking about America are Obama, American Eagle, Wild West and the Statue of Liberty... It's like talking about Germany - the first thing that we associate with Germany is Nazism...

Ahah, vooodka))) I don't drink vodka, I prefer whiskey^^ And I can say, Russans like vodka but usually have more problems caused with it than pleasures...)) We have no brown bears in bast shoes here, we don't play balalaikas but we really like borsch
