I finally received my copy of Samurai Champloo Zine! Just look at the beauty! ;___; I swear, for now it's the best fanzine that I've had a chance to draw something for!
So it's time to share what I had drawn actually!
Speaking of this submission, I think it's super easy to notice that my style of drawing faces in this stickers sheet differs from the style in the bug fight scene submitted earlier, that was my main work for the zine:
The characters in the stickers turned out to be more anime-like, so to say. But it wasn't supposed to be like that in fact. Everything I was expected to do had to be drawn in one style, which was the style of the bug fight scene. However, when I started working on the stickers, it seemed to me that the chibis turned out pretty similar to the canon shapes of the characters, and so I thought that I should draw the group portrait in the anime-like style as well. Because, if drawn in my usual style, it was likely to stand out from the set and spoil the impression.
It's my first own stickers sheet, and I'm very proud of the result of my work. It brought me some new experience and made me want to do some changes to my artstyle. We'll see where this leads.
