Thanks! I always liked them, pity they turned into bubblegum bugs. XD Would have been nicer to 'reform' them w/o changing the appearance, imo.

There's a lot of things wrong with the reform. The main being how quick it happen. How the hell do you turn a whole civilization with a single sentence? Seriously ><.
The change of appearance don't bother me so much, though. I get what they wanted to do: its an insectoid species, so the transformation is some kind of evolution from worm to butterfly. Though their previous design wasn't very wormish, so it doesn't fit so well. And the transmutation is really too quick ><.

Heh. Honestly I had missed that angle a bit; I was more distracted by yet another instance of black being coded as evil, so for them to be 'good guys' they couldn't be dark and creepy anymore, which combined with the implication that an inner transformation must be combined with an outer one, made for what I thought was a shitty lesson for a kid's show (or any show, really). But that's just my view.
Would have been much better, or at least more interesting from a storytelling angle, to just make a subtle outer change, like with Thorax's wings.

I have to admit: this interpretation didn't strike me when I watched the episodes. But that is the second I read someone saying it, and I can't deny that it is a valid interpretation (though I think/hope that the writers where more going with the symbolic of the color and not trying to pass any message on race or anything). The deus-ex-machina ending shocked me more ^^'. I think it might of each other sensibility.
This season final was really interesting for putting reformed villain in the spotlight has hero, which was a recurring theme since Discord's own, but it has also a lot of flaw. I really can't like it as much as I'd want ><.
