I was thinking to myself about what warriors I want to draw when it came to me: Echosong and Leafstar. SkyClan's Destiny was one of the first books I read in the series, and I quickly grew attached to the characters. SkyClan is a broken mess, but that's what I love about it. It's not perfect, it's small and made up of warriors that are kittypets, rogues, and loners. However, it's not perfect Thunderclan. The characters are flawed and make mistakes, and man, do cats die.

Spoilers for Hawkwing's Journey, since that book is a tearjerker if you like SkyClan. Cats die or are captured left and right, and that's not counting cats that stay behind because they fear dying. I can't remember all of the cats, but from my memory Waspwhisker, Cherrytail, Sharpclaw, Frecklewish, Ebonyclaw, and many others had me wide eyed. I had read about those characters and adored them, and in a page they were gone. And that's not even mentioning the sadness that comes from Billystorm and Echosong's demise. Leafstar must be absolutely miserable by this point. She lost two of her three kits, her mate, more than half of her Clan, her faithful medicine cat and her best friend since the Clan was formed, and had to say goodbye to her only true home up until that point. God, I feel so bad for her. But I will give her this, she's kept it together. I don't want her to die, but I feel like it's coming soon, and that makes me choke up.

But enough sad stuff. Here's a happy Echosong and Leafstar, chatting about apprentices and good hunting. Back in the old days, when it was much simpler.
