The Mountain Hawk-eagle is a medium-large raptor at about 70–72 cm in length. The typical adult has brown upperparts and pale underparts, with barring on the undersides of the flight feathers and tail. The breast and belly and underwing coverts are heavily streaked. The wings are broad with a curved trailing edge, and are held in a shallow V in flight. Sexes are similar, but young birds are often whiter-headed.From wiki

love the detail, and the coloring, most of all. The sort of matted brush-stroke background gives a great effect that looks like you took blood and mixed it with gesso with a big brush and just smeared it down XD I love it! I also love the expressions, here. He looks almost like he's got some level of self-righteous disgust, or maybe a level of sadness so close to total apathy it could barely be considered emotion? either way, it's very enrapturing! Good job!

I realised that I more things the longer I look at it. Later I noticed the arrow in his arm.
