I woke up the next morning with the sunlight on me, warming my white fur. I raised my head and looked around me. Santiago was lying next to me, his nose almost touching my belly. It was strange here, it seemed like dogs liked the idea of pups. Nothing like it was at the mills. Once you had so many litters, it lead to certain death. I hoped the pups would have a good home here.
I heard feet padding lightly down the hallway. A red husky dog soon came into view, and she trotted by, not seeming to notice me. I smelled food, and realized I was very hungry. I struggled to get to my feet. My belly was getting bigger and heavier, it was hard to get up off the floor. The husky noticed me and rushed over. "Oh, do you need help?" she asked, concerned. She was a dainty thing, but something about her told me she could hold her own in battle. No, no I've got this, thank you.." I said, trying- and failing- to get up with grace. I accidently bumped into Santiago in the process. It scared him awake, and he growled slightly, but got to his feet when he realized it was me that had woken him. "Good morning madam." He said in a gruff voice. I raised an eyebrow at him. "Just call me Jeza."
The husky spoke. "Jeza, huh? I'm Madison. It's lovely to meet you!" Her tongue lolled out of her mouth as she smiled, and she did look genuinely happy to meet me. I looked at Santiago, unsure. He gave me a goofy grin, which seemed to surprise Madison for some reason. Whatever it was, she kept it to herself and turned her attention to the hallway where a black and white dog was walking towards us. "There you are, Krios! Come on, I'm starving." He smirked. "You didn't have to wait for me you know." he said sarcastically. "Oh don't worry, I wasn't." she said in a serious tone. She winked at me and nipped at Krios's ear. "Come on!" With that they both trotted towards the food.
"You uh, hungry?"Santiago asked me, putting his usual straight face on. I paused. "I am.. but I don't know where to go.." "don't worry, I'll show you the way." He said, taking a few steps forward. I hesitated, and he stared blankly at me. "Well it's just that I've never met some of the dogs before and.." "Fury and Garm won't hurt you." He interrupted. "The dogs around here are a lot of things, cruel isn't one of them." He looked pointedly at my belly. He turned around and started walking the way Madison and Krios had gone. I followed him, suddenly matching his confident steps into the place where the other dogs were eating..

note:
I left the ending kind of open so anyone in the pack could reply to this/ branch off of this. I had planned on all of the dogs being the the room eating, so the next part is up to any of you. c:
Hope I kinda got their personalities right, I really tried!
