I always try to respect what the character truly is, and who he is. Basically, I allowed Blade to let the sarcastic bent that was hinted at in the movie run full tilt here.Β

Yes, to me he sounded like someone who strived for perfection, is hardy, and held high expectations both for himself and his crew. He seemed like the kind of guy who would rarely show emotion, as though it were a sign of weakness. However, in the film he did a very selfless thing and didn't think much of it, as thought it were nothing and tried to take off knowing he was severely injured. It makes me think he endured some sort of trauma which traumatized him and left him cold, in the film it hinted at the death of his friend which he witnessed firsthand. He is capable of emotion, but from what I saw only expressed little of it.
I'm in a psychology class right now, this is only what I think.
