The Backahasten is a water spirit from swedish folklore which appears as a beautiful white horse. It lurks in lakes and rivers for his prey, especially children, and charms them into climbing on its back and it´s impossible to dismount again. Then it jumps back into the water for drowning and devouring its rider.
