Description
'Vanity of Vanities, saith the preacher, all is vanity' (Ecclesiastes 12: 8).This is a study in acrylics of Harmen Steenwyck's painting, 'Still Life: An Allegory of the Vanities of Human Life', which I did for my A2 level vanitas art project.

Unfortunately, due to the thickness of the sketchbook, it was tricky trying to scan this spread and get both sides of the page in focus... you can also tell by the specks of paint in the background that I didn't take particularly good care of this sketchbook...

I thought you might have drawn it in or photoshopped after completing the traditional piece. It is interesting concept - some photoshop in like a drawing hand etc.

Wow, this is brilliant, I love the lighting and everything.
I'm having to follow a Vanitas idea for my GCSE, with the theme 'surfaces on the coastline'. It's so difficult, and it doesn't help that I'm a nightmare when it comes to painting...

Wow! Looks so good! When ever I used acrylics to pint no matter what I drew ended up looking like a turd! hehe
