Anime neko ka? (Anime cat?...) Bo-chan looking rather nervous at having been transformed into an anime character. I still love this piece. I've never bothered to scan it in until now. Usually I try to take a picture of it but the glare always obscures something. I tried to scan this in at 600 dpi but my computer had a fit so I just scanned it in at 150. I had hoped to make this one a print, but oh well. Maybe later. Anyay, acrylic on canvas with india ink. (heh heh) 2000 or 1999. I dunno. The original is about 12x16 inches.Related content

A and ma always look the same to me, for the most part. Plus, this is actually a wrap around. There is more character extended on the side of the canvas but I was too lazy to go to the trouble of scanning in all four sides of the canvas just for tiny bits of stuff.

Nope! Different cat. ^_^ The familiar series cat is named Tupper and he's a young little guy. Probably less than a year old. He's also not real. ^_^ This cat is Tornado. She's my cat of 16 years. I got her when I was 11. There's some pics of her in my scraps file but I don't think I have any more of her in the gallery.

Neko is cat and ka is a Japanese suffix making it a question. Basically, it's like a spoken question mark. Like "milk desu ka" "it's milk?" Or something like that. ^_^

I memorizd all of the Hiragana so far, and Katana doesn't look to hard, but there is SO MANY KANJI symbols!

This is such a cool painting! It's like popart, but with Japanese animation instead of cartoons or comic. With the detailed lines and such an intense expression.
