Well, I don't have photoshop so I just play around with settings in SAI.
I use Filter > Contrast, add a new "Overlay" layer filled with black to make the image clearer, and I manually use the pen tool and scribble out the smudges.

aaah really? I have SAI too, though I tried the trial of photoshop and i have no idea how to use it, so i gave up xD I find SAI easier
and ooh, thanks so much c: I'll definitly try that when i post more trad XD

Yeah, I've pretty much given up on trying to get Photoshop x)

though undoing the smudges takes some time XD

and yeah, the smudges are pretty annoying to get rid of :')

I'm too lazy to find an easier way to clean up traditional artwork x)
