Description Description:
These gargantuan crustaceans lurk in the darkest depths of the ocean, typically only emerging once every decade or so to lay their eggs.  Their bodies typically grow up to ten yards in diameter, with the proportions of their height, legs, and claws similar to those of the Queen Crab.  Their shells are white on the underside, but a deep, dark blue on top.  Their left claws are significantly larger than the right, with the claw itself nearly as long as the body.  Their thick shells are often covered by smaller deep sea organisms, including large quantities of kelp, giving them a rather shaggy appearance and helping them blend into their natural environment.  They typically feed on carrion and slow-moving deep sea creatures, but can move quickly to defend themselves or their young when threatened.

Tactics:
Mammoth crabs are generally slow, ponderous, and passive.  Knights should take care to act nonthreatening if they are encountered, and should never approach their eggs.  Since they generally do not venture to the surface unless they are moving to lay their eggs in the sandy beaches, the safest tactic is simple avoidance, and on the surface they are thankfully quite easy to spot.  If a situation necessitates conflict with a Mammoth Crab, their thick shells can prove to be incredibly difficult for both conventional weapons and powerful magic to break through.  Two methods can deliver a quick victory against one of these.  First, their bodies are highly sensitive to their environment when they are submerged, so if the water they are in is made toxic to them, boiled, rapidly evaporated, or frozen, this will generally prove swiftly lethal.  Alternatively, if a Knight can find a way to strike at its underside, through a trap, for example, or by flipping it onto its back, the shell on its underside is typically much softer and thinner than that on its top, allowing for the crab to be dispatched with a single powerful strike.

Abilities:
These deep sea crustaceans have no particularly extraordinary abilities that are not blatantly obvious.  Their large size confers great strength, and their shells are nearly impervious.  Their huge claws, especially their left, are strong enough to crush plate armor like paper.  They are one of the few creatures capable of surviving in both the deep sea and on land.  Their eyesight is underdeveloped, but they can easily detect both threats and food through highly developed senses of touch and smell.  They can sense tremors in earth, sand, water, and air, and as such can 'see' omnidirectionally.

   Mobility: Moderate
   Durability: Very High
   Magic: None
   Intelligence: Moderate
   Awareness: High
   Tactics: Low
   Size: Huge

I see Moira protecting them from the knights, yeah. Ammy would join her on principle if she wasn't terrified of water. Jesiax probably would join her since she doesn't fear water.

You'd better believe it.  If Moira was protecting them from the knights, Jesiax would be right there by her side.

Not if you don't want Moira getting crabby and attacking you.
