Well, another tarot card, this time "The Chariot", and the character choiced for this one is Zelgadiss. I think the duality Zelgadiss has would fit the card perfectly.Of course I changed some elements: Zel dress in white, like in novels (just because I like him like that, better), and Sphinx were turned into the two creatures mixed with him: the golem (the reddish one) and the brown demon (the blue one). Actuallly I didn't know how the bronw demon is exactly, so I figured it out using an only illustration.
The rest of the elements are the ones of this card.

Bueno, por fin otra carta más de Slayers, esta vez "El Carro". Pensé que la dualidad de Zel encajaría perfectamente en esta carta, aunque cambié algunas cosas: Zel va de blanco, como en las novelas, que me gusta más, y las dos esfinges son el golem (la roja) y el brownei (el azul) que están fusionados con él respectivamente.

I've never seen this style before. While i deatest how yu-gi-oh it looks, it's a vary good disign. Old styled positioning, with digital-style shading, and anime-ish poportion. It looks really cool.

Thanks, glad you like. However, I did not based this on "Yu-go-ho" at all; I don't know those series, only for saying, and I find the series have an awful desing. My idea was to imitate traditional art desing in tarot cards, having a medieval art.

I agree about YGO being a bad series, at least at first sigh. The desings creeps me out.

Plane figures with rought lines, pretty much alike the "Beatus" books in Middle Ages, but adapting the symbols to the Slayers universe (the series in which this card is based on)
Don't worry about the spelling mistake; I've many of those because I'm not English native.

(why dose no one ever put a complete suit in one pic?) i think it was really good then. There are some artest that drew the torots a lot better, medieval but with good perspective and detail.

hmmm, medieval romanic art can be detailed, but never realistic; the perspective doesn't apper in that style. Gothic art is different, though; they have a little perspective and more realistic description. I tried to copy it instead making beautiful cards.

Love the concept, coloring and line width on this. It's really varied and bold. I'd have never thought of this concept, and so it seems very unique to me.

Caligraphic lines are my favorites. I'd draw them using nibs and ink, but vectorial programs are easier to do. Anyway, I wanted to draw Zel like this; this card is the one that fits him the best.

Sí, escogí a Zel por lo de la carta. Es básicamente lo mismo que el cuento de "El Carro" de Platón: o sea, un auriga (ginete de carro) que controla a dos caballos, uno blanco y otro negro, que tiran en direcciones contrarias: el ginete es el cerebro, el caballo blanco son las buenas emociones y el negro las malas... así que el ginete tiene que controlar a ambas. El concepto de esta carta es el mismo, solo que Zel controla las partes de que está compuesto

Hm...it seems to have to do with his chimera self yes? Interesting, the golem and the blow demon are tugging the chariot while Zel is on top. The drawing of the blow demon is remarkibly simmilar to the one I originaly saw in and illustration...and yes I also prefer the white robe and not the light tan...-_-

Yeah, when I read the description of 7th card, I found it sounded very similar to Plato's "The Chariot" tale, as well it fits Zel's personality. I thought it was the best combination.
The bronw demon? Yes, I used that only illustration as refference. I think it's the only place where we can see how a brown demon looks like.

Well, actually I try to draw a card for every Slayers character, and none of them will be repeated; it means this is the only card where Zelgadiss appears.
As for this card, yes, I learned the meaning of this card and I thought it sounded like Zel dealing with his other selfs, so I figure the sphinx match them.

I was wondering when he was going to show up. It does fit him and I like how you design the golem (it's a better attempt then the transformer-ish one I did in this one. [link] ) Once you've done all of the cards, are you going to print them and make real cards out of them? I think that would be neat.

About your question, yes, I thought on that. The cards would look far better as... real cards. At first I thought in printing them in my later job because I have printing machines and card-papper, so I only need to print some when nobody was looking
