Description Port Gladis is the sea side harbor village and the freight terminus for the Grover Field Railway. most cargo that arrives here is transported by ether the GFR, Carlisle and Silloth bay Railway, Newcastle and Carlisle Railway, and the Caledonian Railway. the two main ways to get to Port Gladis is through the junction near Mossband, or taking the line that runs over the river near Drumburgh Castle.

the history of Port Gladis stems from one of it's closest neighbors, the Port of Carlisle. when Port Carlisle was built, an expansion was added so that was made to give Liverpool access to the sea, but Liverpool found it easier to travel to the main Port Carlisle instead of the expansion.

so the expansion was left unused until it had been bought in an auction by Gladys Bustamante who was a Jamaican Trade unionist. once he had bought and arrived at the old harbor, the port was restored and named after Gladys.

the port would be used to deliver supplied items to Jamaica, Cuba, and many other areas within the Bahamas, Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean's for 10 years. at some point the line from Mossband to Port Gladis had been built, the line would be mostly used by the NCR and CSBR until the Grover Field Railway was formed in 1938, the two lines are still equally shared with the four railways to this day, and both Port Gladis and Port Carlisle are maintained by the Cumbria County History Trust and Grover Field Preservation Society.
