Description
Walking into the town, you felt a shiver run down your spine. The town was deserted. The only things that lived here were dust and darkness. You walked by Dan, your hand holding onto his arm, as Phil followed behind you. Jack went up to one of the houses and looked in through the window. The inside looked fairly normal, but something felt so wrong about it. Mark continued to walk ahead, looking at the homes and shops. He walked into one of them. Everything in it was expired.
"This town is so creepy. What is this place anyway?" Phil asked, to no one in particular.
"We could be in Lavender Town. I played it a while back. Could be the reason we have Pokemon with us, but it doesn't explain why the town is dererted. Even within that game there were a couple people roaming around." Jack responded.
"I get the feeling we shouldn't be here. Let's keep moving." Mark asked, to no one in particular, walking out of the shop.
"Heh-heh-heh, no, you are exactly where I want you." Suddenly a strong thud and a metal clang fell from one of the trees. Dan moved you further behind himself and Phil stepped in front of you as well. Mark and Jack ran over and prepared themselves for what would come out of the woods. A Metagross stepped out from the trees, its eyes glowing red and its body had dents in several different places. More laughter came, but this time from up high. You looked up and saw Nate up on top of one of the roofs. "Now it's your turn. Send out your challenger."
"Anyone want to try?" Mark asked.
"I'll do it." Phil said, taking your hand away from his arm, he stepped forward and reached into his pocket. He had no idea what would exit the ball. He threw it into the air an from it a Pyroar.
A smirk came across Nate's face. He didn't say a word and watched as the Metaross came at the Pyroar, ready to attack. The fire Pokemon held its position and pounced at the other, knocking it to the ground. One of the arms on the Metagross started to shine. It was ready to use bullet punch. At the last second Pyroar dodged and used flamethrower. The metagross fell to the ground, weakened, but not done just yet. It jumped up and smashed its body into Pyroar's side. Pyroar struggled to get up for a moment, but was pinned down by Metagross' arm on its neck and the other arm was in the air, ready to come down for the final blow.
Phil watched from the side, a worried look on his face. He was ready to call back the poor creature to its ball when Dan rushed forward and threw a ball into the air. From it, a Camerupt emerged and slammed its body into the Metagross, knocking it off of Pyroar. The Metagross went to the ground, but before it could get back up the earth started to shake beneath it. Cracks started to form until finally the ground beneath opened up and it fell below.
"NO!" Nate yelled. He jumped down from the rooftop, rage plastered onto his face. "I'm getting quite sick of you taking down my Pokemon, but no matter this next one will be your doom." With that, he threw out his final Pokemon. The creature emerged. It was huge, from its back came a pair of large wings, if you could even call them that, and it let out an ear shattering roar. It was Giratina. "Heh, now let's see how you- wait, what?" The beast turned and faced Nate, growling. A sweat trickled down his face as he slowly backed away, but he still attempted to keep a tough look on his face. "Come on now, I'm your master. You're not going to hurt me." With that, Giratina turned and hit him with its tail, launching him across the road. It roared again.
"What should we do?" Phil asked.
Stepping forward, Mark responded "The only thing we can do. We have to battle it." You followed behind and took out another pokeball from your pocket. The others followed soon after and each of you threw out a Pokemon. From you, came a Primarina. From Jack, an Alolan Ninetails. Mark got a Krookodile. Dan got a Charizard and finally, from Phil, he got Xerneas.
The battle had begun. Each of the Pokemon did their best with Charizard in the air, Ninetails shooting ice to slow it down, the Krookodile shifting the earth to throw off Giratina's balance, Primarina's singing was also throwing off the creature's senses, and Xerneas had the most effect on Giratina. Everything was going great and it looked like you guys would win this, until Giratina managed to hit Charizard out of the sky. The pokemon fell out of the sky, crashing into Ninetails. Charizard seemed to be ok, but it wasn't getting back up and neither was Ninetails. Krookodile was eventually kicked to the side, as well as Primarina. Although Xerneas had a type advantage against Giratina, it still was stuggling now that it was fighting alone.
"What are we going to do? At this rate we're going to lose and then what'll it do?" Jack said.
"Attack us?" Dan responded.
"Not on my watch!"
You all looked at where the voice had come from. Above you was Arceus. The pokemon flew overhead and landed in front of your group. From its back, Tiny-Box-Tim jumped down and over to Mark.
"Tim! You're ok!" He said, scooping up the little box into his arms. "Where have you been?"
"I landed in a different land and met Mario. After I helped him save Peach, she lead me to a door that lead me to you all, but when I found you that scary pokemon appeared. I wanted to help, but I needed to get some help myself. So I ran back into the forest and Arceus came to me." He responded with a smile.
"Tim, you're amazing!" you said, patting him on the head.
Arceus now faced Giratina and attacked. While Xerneas distracting the beast, with a flash Arceus was able to banish Giratina. The battle was over. You walked up to Arceus as it lead its head down to your level.
"Thank you." You said and patted its head. It lead its head back up and its body disappeared, as well as Xerneas and the other knocked out Pokemon. There was a groan from the other side of the street. You had forgotten about Nate. You all ran over to him. He laid on his stomach, his face contorted in pain. You carefully turned him over.
"Hey, are you ok?" You asked. His eyes opened a bit as he responded.
"I'm alive. I feel as if I've been hit with a ton of bricks though."
"It was a giant tail actually." Phil corrected. Nate mustered a light chuckle as he got up slowly.
"So I didn't imagine all of that. Are you guys ok? I hope those Pokemon I sent out didn't hurt you."
"We're ok. We had our own to defend us." You said with a reassuring smile. He looked at you and smiled.
"I'm glad. I would've felt horrible if anything had happened to you guys."
"Don't sweat it man. We're glad your back to normal." Responded Jack, patting him on the back.
"So where do we go from here?" Dan said.
"We could try the Pokemon tower. I'm sure something is different there." Nathan said.
You all made your way to the tower. The doors looked off. As you approached, the doors slowly opened and revealed something that looked like a throneroom, despite the fact that there was fire lining the sides.
"This looks kind of familiar. Wait. Oh, crap." Mark stated.
"What is it?" You asked.
" I know what this is."
"Where are we?" Jack said.
"We're in the final level of Cuphead. The only thing I don't see here is the Devil."
"Nope, he won't be making an appearance, but I hope I will suffice."
Suddenly, Bill appeared in the large throne at the end.
"Is there anyone else we need to find or can we finally go home?" Jack asked.
"Go home? What are you talking about. Our dear (y/n) still hasn't figured out which of you is her soulmate. Unless, have you figured it out, sweety?"
"I-I don't..." The words wouldn't come out. This felt to forced. You wanted to be with someone, but you didn't this to be the story you told people and even if you did say his name, would he resent you for it?
"I guess she doesn't so let's have some fun." Bill said, his eye lighting up and the fire around you turning blue. "But how about we make this a bit more interesting and have you guys rescue her." Suddenly, you were lifted into the air and placed into a cage behind Bill. "Now, come and get her."
