Charby the Vampirate and his favorite weapon, the hook. Bad motion effects!This is a lot better than my previous attempts. I think that's due in part to doing those UIU pictures halfway manga/realistic recently. Besides that though, I haven't been practicing realism in between...I think it's when I take a break from something for a bit, I can sit back and analyze all the flaws in my previous work before I try again. Yeah I know this doesn't usually work, because hard-worn practice and just keeping at it is the best, tried-and-true method at improvement, but what can I say? I'm weird like that ^_^
Done with mechanical pencil, smudge stick and eraser...still things could use improvement but it makes the last two Charby pictures like this look gawdawful. (Especially the last one, or "Alfred E. Neuman" Charby)

actually i rather like letting a drawing i think is awesome simmer for a few days, cuz then i see its horrible flaws snd wonder why i thought it should ever see daylight.

PS: The hook is HUGE! Charby must be quite talented to have learned to control them... (Not the weight of course, being an elite, it must be light as a feather to him ^.^)

I'm faving this one too ^_^ He looks like he's remenicing(sp) about his past fun with his hooks. I love how the hair and face turned out, really I like it all, but those are the parts i like best...Um yeah I ramble, sorry v_v

Pretty gelatinous globs of eyes... And the rest of him looks might nice, too. I love his neck, with the adam's apple and the....the....bit of skin that attaches the chin to the throat. Can't remember the name, but it's swell.

For me I stay away from real life drawing because well...I suck in general but doing it on paper just makes me suck more ^^ so I stick to my tablet and using painter or photoshop (Ctrl+z is my best friend...and so are layers) but if there is one thing I have learnt it is that other people don't notice the flaws as much as the artist does...because I think that picture is awesome, and wish I could do something like that ><
