This is weirdly close to how I imagined him when I first read the book! I love how his face looks reminiscent of how faces are styled in medieval illuminations; I don't know whether you did that deliberately or not but that's wonderful.

same here, the copies in my household are actually my dad's from when he was a young boy. I meanwhile own a 2nd hand copy of the hobbit and the silmarilion. I also own a copy of the Children of Hurin which is new because I only bought it a few years a go when it first came out.

Haha I read my dad's copies too! The Fellowship of the Ring has a worn sepia coloured pull-out map of Middle Earth that kinda looks like it was knocking about in Aragorn's satchel before being folded and put in the book. Is The Children of Hurin any good?

don't know I haven't actually read it properly yet, I am one of those people who adore books, buy them with every intention to start reading them, but don't because they end up reading something else or just don't get round to it.
