Description Lyrica was helped to her feet, glancing nervously between Malroth and his Builder Lala. “Wh-who are you...? How did you find this place....?” The small child asked, looking like she was ready to bolt at the first sign of danger. The Master of Destruction frowned slightly.

“We heard that there were people going missing so we came to investigate and found this library. When we entered, we heard you singing.” He explained, direct and to the point as he usually was. Lala nodded as she set the child back down on her bed of blankets. “Do you know if there’s anyone else here, Lyrica?” He asked kindly and Lala gave her a warm smile.

“Aside from a few nice monsters, no....” the small child replied, glancing to them both. “Y-you won’t hurt them, right.....?” She asked, showing that unlike most people in this snowy town when they had first gotten here, she liked monsters. Her eyes darted between the two adults, worry clear on her face.

“We won’t hurt them. Why not come with us and help us identify your friends?” Lala offered, offering her hand to the child. The little girl looked nervous, but nodded, shyly accepting the hand. Malroth scooped her up into his arms and brought out his extra arms, showing the child that he was not exactly human himself.

Almost as if to confirm his suspicions, the child relaxed and shyly cuddled close. “We’re here to get any good humans and good monsters and bring them back to the castle, for their own safety. People have been going missing, so it’s not exactly safe out here by yourself.” Malroth explained, with Lala nodding.

“But I’m not by myself...... I have Fuwa....” little Lyrica replied, and there was a scratching sound at the door. The two adults looked confused since the child had been by herself. Lala opened the door and found a bunnicorn. It wiggles past her and went over to Lyrica, standing on it’s hind legs with what looked like a potato in it’s mouth meant for the child.  “Fuwa!” The little girl exclaimed happily. Malroth kneeled and the Bunnicorn leapt into Lyrica’s arms, cuddling with her as it gave her the potato.

“Awwww! Such a sweet Bunnicorn!” Lala said, being quite the sucker for soft, fluffy and cute things. Lyrica was surprised to hear that, though now that she thought about it Lala seemed to be like her, a human with a monster friend. This thought caused the small child to relax completely with them, feeling safe.

Malroth chuckled softly and lead the way back out of the room, carrying the pair of young friends, his Builder close behind. They needed to find the others and get them safely back to the town, especially this small child. He didn’t know exactly why, but he could feel a protective urge rising in him. He shifted Lyrica till he held her in one arm, being incredibly strong. Now he could better protect the child even as he held her close.

Something told him that someone had hurt this child before, and he wasn’t going to anyone hurt her again if he could help it. And while he wanted to ask her a lot of questions about where she came from and why she seems nervous around other humans, he wanted to first get everyone out of there safely. It wouldn’t do to go search and rescue people only to get caught or killed themselves.

Lala lead the way this time, Malroth following so that if a fight did ensue the child and her Bunnicorn friend would be safer between them.  So far there was only silence till Lala’s torchlight glinted off of something in the dark. Taking a close look she found a snowy white Sabercat cub and a white slime, both unusual since she had never seen these variations before. Both were hiding under a table and looked fairly young.

Lyrica wiggled to get down and was set down by Malroth before she went over to the two monsters. Both perked up when they saw her approach. “It’s okay, you guys.... these are nice people.” Lyrica said, not using the term ‘humans’ and instead saying ‘people’, showing how she viewed the world a bit more. Malroth has a feeling that the young girl preferred the company of monsters to humans and was proven right when she hugged the two monsters sweetly.

He watched the Sabercat nuzzle her and purr while the Slime cuddled close as well, shifting it’s form to wrap around her waist like a belt. They really trusted and cared about each other it seemed. She lead the cub back to Malroth before jumping slightly at a loud and unexpected sound coming from the direction that Lyrica knew a hidden entrance was..
