Yes, everything was ready. All down to the letter. He had gotten mum and dad out by winning tickets for them to some fancy hotel in Unova, now he had the house all to himself. In other words, he had Hikari all to himself.

Jun couldn't help resist the smile on his face. This was their first Valentines together. He had to make this one special.

Ding Dong!

Hikari slightly fidgeted infront of Jun's door. She wore a vintage black evening dress given to her by her mom. Her hair was tied to a loose, side-pony tail. Her heartbeat was accelerating, well... due to various reasons.

The door swung open, and Jun emerged from the other side of the door. Wearing his signature boyish smile, he welcomed her in.

Hikari's breath hitched seeing the blond. He was wearing a neat tuxedo, his tie slightly loose- but it only added more to the boy's charm.

Jun found Hikari to be breath-taking. But oh no, he wasn't going to show it. For he was to be cool tonight, no slip ups. Jun reached out for Hikari's hand, planting a small kiss on her knuckles.

Hikari's face lit up like fire, her blush quite obvious. She was so nervous, she couldn't find the right words to say, so in her flustered state she looked down at the ground.

Jun could almost squeal at how cute Hikari was being. But he had to focus, this was important. He had to make an impact.

"This way." Jun smiled charmingly, and led her to his yard where a romantic candle-lit dinner table awaited.

"Jun... it's..." Hikari was at a loss for words. When did the little ruffian of a childhood friend get this romantic?

"Have a seat." Jun merely smiled as he pulled the chair for Hikari.

"I'll bring dinner." Jun said, going back into the house.

Hikari was left to admire the environment. It was a beautiful star-lit sky, the lights were off- the yard only lit by brilliantly placed candles and the moon itself. Hikari had to hand to Jun, he knew his stuff.

And before she knew it, Jun came back with the dinner.

There was only one problem.

Sure, Jun is romantic as heck tonight, but there are some things about the blond that will never change.

And in a flash, food was flying everywhere. Jun was splattered in main course, while Hikari got a mix between appetizer and dessert.

The two teens stared at each other in momentary silence. Then burst into laughter.

"Guess I wasn't cut out for it." Jun said, chuckling.

"Guess not." Hikari smiled.

The two smiled at each other for a few moments.

"If it's any consolation, I think you still look ravishing covered in pasta."

"Right back at you." Hikari said, pulling some pasta out of the blond's hair.

The two then shared a sweet Valentine's kiss under the starry sky, accompanied by the smell of food mixed with garden fertilizer.

But honestly, they wouldn't have it any other way.
