I think when I was still living in Albert Park I remember a gentleman having really nice restored 50's Crown Victorias. The car in the picture is in Bowness on the other side of town

Earlier someone mentioned it'd look good in monochrome, except you'd lose the red primer. May I have a bash at doing some colour editing for you?

AmongTheFirst In reply to truemouse [2013-04-21 01:34:02 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I think it would look great in monochrome

24 Bowdale Cresent You should ask Karen Neilsen though because it's behind her garage. It's near the corner of Sarcee Trail and the Trans Canada Highway

AmongTheFirst In reply to DmanM [2011-08-12 04:08:39 +0000 UTC]

I think Karen has a rain barrel inside her barn. That's what I do with the downspout outside my own door

Sweet 1956 Ford customline! It is even a V8 car.

AmongTheFirst In reply to DmanM [2011-08-08 04:53:05 +0000 UTC]

It would look really nice with a restoration

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DmanM In reply to AmongTheFirst [2011-08-08 20:52:41 +0000 UTC]

yes it would...although the parts would be much harder to find than a Chevy...maybe that is why you don't see to many of the '56 Fords around.

AmongTheFirst In reply to DmanM [2011-08-09 04:57:40 +0000 UTC]

I was looking at some pictures of 1956 Chevy Bel airs and turns out that this car is one of them. So maybe a resoration wouldn't be as hard

Huh? There is no doubt that this car is a Ford.

Somebody should rescue it... whereabouts is it?

DmanM In reply to Walking-Tall [2011-08-11 21:35:10 +0000 UTC]

true that, very straight and good glass...it would make a great rat rod for someone with a low budget

ellensfavesaccount [2011-08-07 07:29:15 +0000 UTC]

Rusty car pictures tend to look better in black and white, although with the red on the front, you'd lose that. So I think color was probably the right choice.
I'm not a fan of the framing, though. Photography is all about taking a new perspective on things. Everyone has seen a car from this angle. Try getting up close to it, shot laying on the ground and shooting from worm's eye view. Never rely on your subject matter to make the image interesting.

LikeBlue In reply to ellensfavesaccount [2011-08-07 20:50:19 +0000 UTC]

i agree with you and, that's a good/fair critque, imho... the negative space (mowed lawn, hedge...) detracts from the emotional value of the old car dying... filling the frame with car and long grass might work.
cheers!
