this one makes me happy, it makes me think of a bright christmas afternoon.
the sun has just passed it's highest point in the sky, the little ones are all running around screaming and chasing eachother. there's wrapping paper and children's toys everywhere. grandma is sitting in grandpa's old rocking chair, falling asleep like she does every year. all the cousins are sitting around laughing and playing board games. uncles and aunts are chasing the little ones and working in the kitchen. it's nice and warm inside, but even a look at the outside gives anyone a shudder, the world is a white as anything, it was coming down all night before, it's only let up since this morning, as if to let everyone enjoy christmas day without the worry of weather. there's a fire in the fireplace, which gives off a different kind of warmth, a happier kind of warmth than the heaters along the wall. the holy sits in the windowsill, the green a stark contrast to the blaring, the blinding white of the snow. it reminds one and all, old and young, sleeping and awake that the srping will come and the green will prevail over the white.
of course, we're not sure who will be around when the green comes, just that the green will come...life is fragile. love those you love, care for those you care for. but above all, let them know it ***
